Vehicle Model 003 Star Wars X-Wing Fighter Port Special-Purpose Machine Plastic

I just love these small Bandai Star Wars kits! I have purchased several and a few on multiple occasions to build for friends. Will more than likely buy another one or two of this kit.

Note that this is NOT the same as the 1/72 scale Poe's X-Wing Fighter. It is much smaller, as another reviewer has mentioned, the wings are the only moving parts, there is no landing gear, and no figure in the cockpit. Sadly my model did not come with a BB-8 to fit behind the canopy. He is listed and pictured in the assembly instructions as piece A1-23. There were 5 frames of parts: A1 through A4 and Frame BM1 that had three parts for the base/stand. Frame A1 in my kit contained parts 1-4. Frame A4 contained parts 17-21. There were no parts 22 or 23 anywhere and a part 22 doesn't even appear in the instructions. For the price, it's not worth complaining to Bandai or Amazon, though. Still fun to assemble and I agree that placing the stickers is the hardest part.

Very nice detail for this kit. Model is about 144 scale but never states it. Model snaps together or you can glue for more secure. Comes with sticker and water slide decals. You can do a full blown job painting for a nicer model or use minimal painting on some key areas and the sticker decals for a fair look.

The kit I recieved was also missing BB-8. Other than that it was good.

This is the third Bandai palm size Star Wars model I have built. Detail is great. Assembly is easy. Putting on the stickers is the hardest part. You can't go wrong at the low price these are sold for.

Big Star Wars fan. Enjoyed this model and all of the Bandai Series.

This is a small (1/144) plastic construction kit of the most advanced version of the Star Wars X-wing fighter. Moulded in black plastic and designed for snap-together assembly, it has well produced self-adhesive markings to finish the model. A plastic display stand is also included. Apart from a knife and perhaps tweezers, everything needed to complete the kit is in the box. It's worth noting that Bandai rate it as suitable for ages 15+, and although I have yet to build mine, it's clear that the instructions need to be studied before assembly. Some components are also quite delicate - this is not a child's toy. Indeed, the quality of the engineering and the finely engraved detail are superb - any adult modeller should be very happy with what is offered. There are a number of reviews and build-videos on U-Tube which justifiably praise this kit and show what can be done with it.However some things could have been done better:- it's odd that a detailed model for ages 15+ is snap-together and comes with stickers. The snap-fit does not compromise detail but the stickers do. Although well produced they mask fine surface engraving, especially around the cockpit. Water-slide decals would have been so much better.- the cockpit canopy is solid plastic, but could easily have come as a snap fit transparency. Comparable 1/144 aircraft kits usually have clear plastic canopies.Despite the above, I would still recommend this kit, especially at the price Japan Action Figures are asking. I'd rate it 9/10 - but if it had decals and a clear canopy it could have been 11/10!

Ein weiteres Schmuckstück aus dem Hause Bandai.Wie nicht anders zu erwaten, hoch detailliert und paßgenau.Im Gegensatz zu den größeren "Geschwistern" ist dieses Modell allerdings etwas schwieriger zusammenzustecken (auch hier wird kein Klebstoff gebraucht) weil einige Teile sehr klein sind. Etwas Erfahrung und Geschick sind also durchaus nützlich.Die Montageanleitung ist, wie bei allen Modellen aus der Vehicle Serie, auf die Innenseite der Packung gedruckt.Das fand ich im ersten Moment merkwürdig aber im Nachhinein praktisch und es verschwendet keine unnötigen Ressourcen (auch Kleinvieh macht Mist).Das einzige wirklich Manko sind die zu dick auftragenden Aufkleber anstelle der dünneren, wasserlöslichen Abziehbilder.
