Wonderful Book About St. John Vianney!
This is the story of St. John Vianney, the patron saint of parish priests. It was originally written in French by Sophie de Mullenheim and was illustrated by Adeline Avril. Having read two other about biographies for adult readers about St. John Vianney, I am delighted to find this book, which tells his story in a way that kids will enjoy. The story includes the fact that St. John Vianney attended Masses held in secret because of the French Revolution when he was a child. From the time when he was a young child, he always had a great love of the Lord, and desired to be a priest, He had great difficulty learning Latin, and had to take the exam to be a priest more than once before he passed. On his way to Ars he asked a little boy for directions to Ars and told the child, "You've shown me the road to Ars; I'll show you the road to heaven." The book tells how his work in Ars changed the people, and how they lined up for hours to make their confessions to St. John Vianney, who could read people`s hearts.St. John Vianney wanted nothing for himself, and he ate and slept very little. He even slept on the floor with a stone for a pillow. However, he wanted only the best things for God.I absolutely love this book, and I highly recommend it for all Catholic children ages five and up.

A amazing and inspiring devoting life to God and to the sacrament of reconciliation
A wonderful book for kids of all ages! My 9 year-old daughter is devoted to Saint John Mary Vianney. My six-year son is devoted too. They have made me read this book several times.

Superb!
This book deserves a best-of-the-year award! I purchased it for a Christmas gift and was enchanted by both text and pictures! We have read lots of books about hi and this one is the best for young children! The Cure of Ars, born and raised in poverty during a post-revolution France, became well known in all of France still in his lifetime because of his holiness and his ability to bring souls to repentance and to God. The life of the humble and saintly priest who changed a whole town and the hearts of so many is all there, and in wonderful illustrations as well. Thank you Ignatius Press for publishing high quality children Catholic picture books!

Wonderful illustrations of a wonderful saint. My sons couldn't get enough of the Cure -- they even dressed up as him for All Saints! We LOVE this book.

Adorable!
This is another in our favorite series and it's a charming saint that doesn't have any great picture books yet. It's our go-to book for August saint's retellings. Wonderful series that reads like a STORY, not a dry, old fashioned saint bio.

This book is very well written and easy for kids to follow
This book is very well written and easy for kids to follow. I like it because it covers major events in the saints life which most kid saint books fail to do.
