Ukulele Method Complete: Book & Online Audio (Complete Method)

Love it. It is very comprehensive and if you have never played an instrument this is a great book for you. It starts at the very beginning both of uke playing and music theory and continues in easily digested steps. Of course, if you play another instrument, like I do, you could skip over a lot of it. But I've found it to be an excellent review. Also, I like that it covers multiple playing styles at multiple levels. No need to purchase several books as you progress, or different books to try out different styles.At one year in, I still think this is a very good book for learning the uke. One caveat is that although it does cover a number of styles of playing, it concentrates mostly on strumming. Although it touches on fingerpicking/chordmelody etc, it doesn't cover enough of those styles to really learn them well. Also, as another reviewer has said, it doesn't really teach you to read standard notation - although you can pick up quite a bit if you try. Mostly tab reading.

I started on it and I already can tell it has taught me stuff I didn’t know about music and ukulele. It’s like being in a classroom setting, but you’re doing it at home on your own. I recommend this book if you need a book of lessons about ukulele.

This is exactly what I was looking for, a book that covers beginners, intermediate and advanced levels.

Awesome book. Most uke books are too simplified and don't give ANY music theory. This is the BEST Book for serious student or teacher.

Excellent book. Requires practice and concentration. A valuable book for serious ukulele players.

A very readable music education book. Pretty much exactly what I was looking for: chorded-melody, jazz basic chord progressions, essential scales for soloing, chord construction, intervals like thirds and sixths, and I am only through the beginner and intermediate parts, so looking forward to the third part, the mastering ukulele.

The cover description says it all. If you are going to buy only one ukulele book (I have about 20) that will take you from start to advanced, here it is. Great investment for the serious student of uke.

Leider entpuppt sich dieses Buch auch eher als ein Theoriebuch als ein Lernbuch/Übungsbuch.Der Aufbau ist in etwa so: In einer Lektion wird ein bisschen Theorie vorgestelltund gibt es eine kleine Kurzübung oder einen unvollständigen Song, um das Neuelernte zu üben.Zu den Songs fehlen die Songtexte (Mit Ausnahme der beiden ersten Songs).Am Schluss der Lektion, weiss ich jedoch immer noch nicht wo ich das Neuerlente anwenden kannund einen neuen Song mit Songtext kann ich auch nicht spielen.Fazit:Viel Theorie und fast keine Songs zum Üben.Das Buch werde ich trotzdem als Nachschlagewerk behalten.Ich werde nun weiter nach einem brauchbaren Lernbuch/Übungsbuch suchen.Ich suchte ein Buch wie "Lets play Ukulele - Hage".

ダニエル先生のウクレレの真髄がここに！全て英語だけど、タブ譜完備なのでなんとなくわかる、かも！曲をマスターする、というよりも簡単な理論やリックを勉強する本です。日本語訳版が発売されてほしい！教則本にしては分厚いです。
