Update: I will be buying more! This reel does indeed outperform its price.1. Took the reel out to and it was super smooth. Far better than my other budget Shakespeare spinning reels.2. I was on the river fishing and I was using one of my other rods when my friend pulled up. He saw my Eagle Claw rod sitting there and picked it up and saw the reel on it- immediately complimented the color scheme. I know that’s preferential but in person it goes together perfectly IMO and apparently his too. I continued fishing while this was happening and he took the Piscifun setup to the water and started fishing. While I was rigging something else up out of no where he exclaims how smooth the reel is. Mind you he has no idea where I bought it or how much I paid 😂. Pretty awesome.3. As mentioned in my review initial review below I received what looked to be a used reel but still decided to keep it. A day or two after my initial review, Piscifun sent me a message apologizing for the mistake which was more than likely the fault of Amazon really, and offered me a full refund no questions asked. Pretty cool.4. If I could leave 4.5 stars I would. Not 5 only because I did experience some slight knuckle interference with the bail wire as mentioned by some other reviewers. It was barely skimming my knuckle skin when reeling and not enough to actually prevent me from reeling. This problem is easily taken care of by just making some small adjustments to hand position and I really didn’t have an issue with the reel after that.Also unrelated I went fishing with my friend out on his boat and when I showed up he was wearing a long sleeve Piscifun fishing shirt😂. Pretty cool little company.Initial review:I believe I received a used reel. I got my package and immediately noticed parts moving around inside of the original packaging. When I opened the box everything was just laid loosely inside. No additional plastic or packing materials, just a loose reel in a box. I also found the handle pieces unscrewed and loose in the box. The spool was also already filled with what looks exactly like Spiderwire EZ braid in moss green. I was looking forward to filling the spool with my own braid, but this is for a super budget setup so I’m actually just going to leave the EZ braid on and tie on a leader. Also found loose in the box were two random shorter pieces of low test mono. Because of my findings compared to other pictures in reviews, even some unboxing videos, I am pretty sure I got a used and returned reel while paying for new. With that said, I’ve inspected the reel and I’m just going to keep it. I don’t use EZ Braid but it’s already spooled and I just get to save that much of my own braid for a while. The price paid for this reel and my desire to test the reel out asap makes the whole return and exchange process pointless. Seems to be in ok condition, and honestly the reel looks great on my also budget Eagle Claw Crafted Glass 6’6” Medium rod. After fishing almost exclusively with baitcasters, I’m looking forward to spending a lot of time with this and two other spinning setups. I usually don’t review stuff so fast, but the weird unboxing experience had to be shared. I feel like this reel will outperform its price.

I have only used the reel twice, I just got it. So far it has worked flawlessly. I got a 2000 and the size is perfect for my rod. Handled several 12" crappie, a 13" bass and a couple of 15"-17" pickerel. I can't speak to longevity, but I hope it holds up, its a nice, smooth reel.
