1st impression the reel is super smooth and has true anti reverse! Well built and seems as smooth as my lews abu Garcia and six gill spinning reels. It says its a 4000 sized reel when its the size of a large 2000 and a small 3000 of my reels in that size series. Will spool it up with 10# braid and do a full review with pics after i use it fishing. As of now for the really great price i match it up with reels 2 and 3 times the cost. So looks like a steal at the price point

The sizing on the reel is a bit off. this is a 2000, but closer in size to a Pflueger 35 or 2500/3000 Shimano. this is a good size for bass/trout and can hold a lot of line. it's nice that it has rubber on the spool so it is ready for braid. It's pretty smooth once it gets going, but has a bit of inertia to start. this may be a result of extra grease, which is pretty common. It looks like there's two different styles of metal, one which is more glossy on the handle. A some minor imperfections in the casting of a few parts, but that will affect anything on the reel, just aesthetics if you are picky.

Got this for my son to start out with. Its got a guard to prevent the line from going under the spool which was an unexpected awesome feature which I’ve never seen before. I wouldn’t say that makes it beginner; its a badly needed feature even on light windy days. Reels like Shimano. Bale closes firm like Lews. Only reservation is drag has a short range when applying brakes. Meaning there’s isn’t as much in between the breaks being applied and not applied like Shimano or Lews. When brakes applied, could cause tackle to get jerked into water if left unattended. Need to loosen the brakes considerably to make sure this doesn’t happen.

I was worried about the quality of this reel because of the price, but this reel is awesome, almost no plastic at all, and every moving part is cast aluminum from what I can tell,, well polished edges on the spool which is far superior to the more expensive kastking valiant eagle which I won't buy again,,, time to replace my other kastkings with plusinno's.

Amazingly well built and engineered, very fast line retrieval, smooth and quiet operation. Only one minor concern with the machined spool and trim parts: sharp edges that may yield a small cut to a finger or possibly the line if not taught on the spool. Minor issues given the overall quality, easy to deburr the edges, certain this reel is built to last.

Finally got to use this last weekend! For the price I thought it would be pretty shocking if I liked it, but it was really impressive. First out of the box I was surprised how nice it looked and felt. Solid.The drag clicks and locks so it not you cheap plastic knob, really solid it works great. The handle was easily switch to the right side, took me 30 seconds.Reeling is super easy and smooth! So quite and it’s really light so you don’t get tired holding it, this is a perfect reel for lake fishing. Gonna try some braided line and see how it does in the ocean, I let you know Fourth of July weekend!Price point is remarkable for this quality reel!

The first reel I received was Defective. Drag was uneven and jerky. Reel gears or bearings seized up on first outing to the lake.Sent back the first one for a replacement. Second reel has a better drag, and working good so far after a trip to my pond.Reel has good features. Retrieve is smooth. Spool is nice, and its braid ready. Anti reverse is solid.Good luck!

I really liked the reel but the first trip I used it on it developed an intermittent clicking sound when retrieving. None of my other reels ever did this. Felt good in hand, did a great job with casting but I had to return it because I was concerned the clicking was a bad sign for longevity. May have gotten a dud since so many love it and it is a nice reel.
