Sun Ray Pro Gold Headphones for Metal Detectors with extra switch mode for Minelab CTX Metal Detector

Got the Pro Gold headphones a few days ago. Sound is very good but the switches get easily bumped when out in the field. I hope the plastic frame is durable, time will tell. I use the headphones with the CTX 3030 with the WM10 and straight with the detector, no issues. On my GPX 5000 loud signals sometimes make a scratchy noise even with the limiter on. It sounds like they are overloaded.

Did my research and its all true... these are great headphones without a huge price tag. Name brand, clear as a bell, warranty and comfortable.

Fragile switch for "mode" broke when bumped. I had a ruined hunt and two hour drive to get there and back, for a switch that is too fragile for this application. Sending it back was not an option since whatever I ended up with would have the same design flaw. Instead, I opened the headphone, removed the switches and reconfigured the wiring to bypass them. The fact is, if you needed these for the Minelab CTX-3030 (as I did), both switches are useless if you use these phones ONLY for the CTX -3030. With the broken mode switch it can become stuck in the wrong mode which, in my case, gave about 1/4 level of volume needed while leaving the CTX external speaker on. I now have the holes plugged where the switches were, and I expect them to work fine from now on.If it were not for the excellent audio and comfort, these headphones would get a one-star review. I could not wear the other two brands of phones for the CTX without ear pain after 2 to 3 hours. With these Sunray's I can hunt 4 to 6 hours before my ears start to get sore - very happy with that.

Excellent quality and comfort. I did not sweat with these at all. Sounds are crisp and clear, though a little quieter than I prefer (only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars). Shipped extremely fast and very satisfied with the purchase.

They are a solid earphone. Sound quality is good and construction is good. In all honesty I wish they made a dedicated version for each application. I find the switches get bumped in the wrong direction often and is a annoyance.
