Rock Art!: Painting and Crafting with the Humble Pebble

This is a great book! It has something for everyone from the most basic to the complicated! I would definitely recommend this book!

We have used our book often when we go camping with our girls. On a rainy day rock painting is a fun activity. I am craft challenged, and if I wanted to sell any of my art work, I'd have to pay a pretty sum. Really! It is bad.The examples and techniques in to book make it easy and fun. I don't feel embarrassed to leave one of my painted rocks where people can see them and (hopefully) enjoy them. My wife and children have been surprised at what I have created. This book helps a lot.

My daughter and I used this book as a guide for an afternoon of painting rocks on Mother's Day. As my daughter said, the author "put a lot of love" into the book. She also put in a lot of talent! As a professional graphic designer, I really appreciate the clever, colorful and fun designs that fill this book.

So I've been painting rocks forever and now it's all trendy... Yay! I thought I would get a book. It did not disappoint. This book is an essential piece of inspiration. Meaning it's a keeper you will want to have and keep in your crafty library because it's very basic and has very nice doable examples. Tons of eye candy, plenty of ideas that you can use for beginners upwards to more experienced rock painters and beyond. I will have fun working through the ideas in this just to paint rocks.

Did not include any info on how to prepare the rocks for painting. Did not include any info on what types of paint or markers worked best. Did not mention anything about how to protect the surface after painting. It was very basic.

Great book for beginners or people like me who can’t draw at all.

I purchased the book. Clear nice photos! Great to look at to imitate. Steps are clear and easy with pictures of the process to get the pictured completed rock.Helpful tips and inspiring advice.The pics are almost all very easy for beginners. No need to be a highly trained artist or highly naturally gifted. This is easy and for all ages. Once you look it over, you can "tweak" and grow your own style or ideas from there.Have fun! Cheers!

I purchased this book as a jumping off point to paint rocks with my kids. It's a wonderful book. The author goes over types of rock, tools needed, making "rocks" out of polymer clay and using wood filler to customize your rock as needed. Just a lot of great tips to help make your projects turn out for the best. Not all of the photos of painted rocks are broken down into steps, but I don't feel that is necessary. I appreciate more how many ideas for pretty painted rocks that have been included. Plus the photography can't be beat. It's just a really nicely done book.
