The best wound protection ever.
Yes, there are great differences in bandages. The Nexcare sizes vary in this collection from a tiny cut to one that bleeds profusely. They are cloth not plastic. The cloth is far more comfortable as it bends and moves with your body and doesn't come loose. The white cotton gause pad is in the center with adhesive completely surrounding the wound which keeps it covered.Children get hurt in dozens of ways, and the only way to make sure their wound remains sterile for healing is to cover and protect it. Otherwise sand, dirt, germs can make the would far worse and even cause an infection.I have to take a blood thinner and have chronic iron defiency anemia, so any wound can be very serious. A few months ago I had a bruise that looked like a purple grape on my hip. Somehow I bumped it and it split all layers of derma so it looked like a knife wound. I didn't realize that it was a serious problem, but anemia put me in the hospital. The nurses saw the wound with ordinary bandages covering it, and it was trying to heal by incorporating the bandages beneath new skin layers. It took two months to heal with nurses changing the dressing every other day. In the hospital some of the skin was black and rolling up. I told them to cut off the black skin. It hurt for a second, but could then be properly dressed.Recently I skinned a part of my arm and I covered it immediately with nexcare bandages. It has been close to ten days, but I was able to remove the badage today. Nexcare bandages kept the wound clean because there was no opening to the wound. I think I changed the dressing about three time using two bandages at a time to stop the blesding.Nexcare provides waterproof bandages that are clear as well. I prefer the flesh color ones, but have used the clear waterproof as well. The waterproofing worked. However, I've found the clear bandages are more difficult to remove the adhesive protection and get it on the wound to stay.I shopped several pharmacies looking for these. They had all sorts of bandages, but not nexcare. This order comes with four boxes of bandages. It's a bargain and gives you the best possible care.Absolutely five stars for these.

These are GREAT bandages for active lifestyles, cushioning a sensitive wound/sore, and/or protecting a wound from getting wet
I have used the Nexcare Active for quite a few years now and I really like them. When I have a cut that needs additional cushioning or needs to be protected from water, this is the adhesive bandage that I use.Nexcare's standard Water Proof bandages and I have never gotten along...somehow I often wind up making the ends bunch up because they are so flimsy & thin, so I find them difficult to apply, plus the generally are not very good at staying adhered to my skin. The Nexcare Active, on the other hand, has worked great for me, personally. The foam used (which does NOT contain latex) provides some extra cushioning to the wound. For some wounds/sores, this reduces pain and can help avoid healing complications...and this especially goes for wounds on the hand and feet which are always getting banged around. These foam bandages are flexible and like other Nexcare bandages that use this "diamond" pattern, they seem to do a better job at contouring to various body parts. Simultaneously, these also protect a wound from getting wet as they are waterproof and they go a good job at staying waterproof even when doing something active (ex: swimming). The adhesive used is strong enough to allow the bandage to stay put even with physical activity, but is not so strong that it causes severe irritation upon removal. Like other Nexcare bandages, the pad portion of the bandaid does a good job at reducing sticking to the wound, making removal simpler and less uncomfortable. Additionally, these are also easy to open (a very small detail but one which adds a little convenience.)Overall, I really like the 3M Active bandages. If you need a bandage that will function with your active lifestyle, provide a little extra padding to a sensitive wound or sore, and/or protect the wound from getting wet, this is a great product. These aren't the cheapest adhesive bandages on the market by any means, but they are very good quality and I think they are definitely worth the money.

Great bandages; terrible delivery of beaten, crushed package
I love these bandages but was concerned when the package arrived looking like it had been drop-kicked by a football player. I opened the crushed package and, sure enough, all 4 taped-together band-aid boxes had been flattened. The contents of 3 of the 4 had been spilled into the interior of the surrounding package. Because they were still individually wrapped, I put them all in a zip-locked bag.

Why I won't bother with any others:- Extra cushion is great when you need to protect a high impact spot like the bottom of your foot- Sticks very well, but only the first time you put it on. If you have to peel and restick, it may come off.- Water resistant. I haven't tried swimming with it, but I've forgotten about it through showers and it peeled off like it was dry.- Stretchy and flexible = comfortable. It moves with you and won't bunch or lift anywhere, even if you stick it on a weird spot like a finger joint.- Latex free - I have a mild latex allergy and these won't irritate my skin.If I have to wear a bandage on the same spot for several days, then I do need to make sure I rotate the replacement so it's not on the exact spot as the previous one. I think this is from the sticky stuff. Other than that, I have no other complaints. I seem to remember buying them in neon colors at one point, too, but I don't remember if they were the Active Extra Cush. It would be great to have them in fun colors, tho.
