Fly on the Wall

A Coming-of-Age Graphic Novel with a Good Dose of Humor.
Henry Khoo (Fly on the Wall) is tired of his family treating him as a baby. To show his family that he is growing up, Henry decides to travel from Perth, Australia, to Singapore to visit his Dad. The trip forces him to handle many grown-up things he has never undertaken before. The story deals with many themes, including independence, being able to say sorry, making up with a friend, and learning not to judge a book by its cover.Henry has a bit of a falling out with his best friend, Pheebs. She wants to escape Henry's possessiveness while branching out and making new friends. When Henry gets hurt, he decides to start a blog called Fly on the Wall. Unfortunately, Tim sees Henry writing a blog post at school. While Henry doesn't understand why Tim doesn't tattle on him, he fears that Tim is up to something with all of his picture-taking. Henry meets a girl named Nor on the plane, and she, as his Shifu, attempts to guide Henry in dealing with Tim.I read the story twice and enjoyed it much more the second time. The illustrations are humorous and well-done, though some of the print on the graphics was hard to see.

It is worth the BUZZ.
I wish I had the same nerve as this kid. Henry Khoo may be a baby, but he definitely has the guts to do things he sets his mind to.This one's such a fantastic middle grade novel with excellent art. It was so entertaining!
