This book is very practical and easy to read. For each concept, real life examples were given and how a parent reacted in the situation (some good, some not so great). While no earth shattering revelations were made, it was a great reminder that our job as parent is to foster independence and good decision making as opposed to controlling our teen's every move. The authors allude that all kids will lie and deceive us to be independent---it's our job to allow freedom while making sure they aren't endangering themselves or others.
