Jillian's style is easy to understand for all
I am studying to become a personal trainer and am an avid fan of Biggest Loser USA and of Jillian. I read quite a few books on weight loss and how to exercise as I have a personal interest and this one I read from cover to cover in a day and a half.I find Jillian's style very straight forward and she explains things in very simple terms, making it easy to understand for everyone, even people who haven't seen the inside of a gym for a number of years. Her book also deals with emotional changes you will have to make as well as the motivation to exercise and change your diet. The book is great if you are jumping up and down from motivation to change your eating habits and start exedrcising. It has a programme to follow, recipies etc. Her recipies are very American and I probably wouldn't eat many of them myself, nevertheless there are some very useful tips on how to substitue and improve your diet.I took away some very useful information from this book and would recommend it to anyone who wants to understand a bit more about how exercise and weight loss go hand in hand with a healthy diet. Most of all, it's an entertaining no nonsense read and not full of scientific terms which may seem complicated.

Brilliant, Just Brilliant!
This book is amazing. I know quite a bit about weight loss but this book makes it so simple to understand. You can work out exactly how much you need to eat based on your metabolic rate and it also helps you figure out what sort of oxidizer you are. This really helps you feel focused and the Science section is wonderful. It makes the maths of losing weight so simple and easy to understand. I love Jillian Michaels and ever since I saw her on the Biggest Loser I knew she had the correct attitude for weight loss that lasts. I've lost another 30 lbs already thanks to this book and I highly recommend it.Even if you already have a clear idea of what you need to do to lose weight, this book will help you focus your energy where it's needed most. The exercises in the back are worth a look and although some of them require gym equipment, you can do most of it at home. I have all three of her DVDs (burn fat, boost metabolism; 30 day shred; no more trouble zones) and I'd recommend all of them too. If you aren't afraid to work for your weight loss goal then I'd highly recommend all of her products!

Exercise description book!
I admire Jillian since her performance in 'The Biggest Looser' series. I bought few of her DVDs and was deciding on a book to keep me motivated and inspired. I got attracted by the price - £3,5 is a bargain for any book of hers, so I thought.'Winning by losing' arrived today, I didn't start to read it yet, but I'm fairly disappointed already. The book is quite small, 280p long, and half of them (from page 161 to the end) is exercise descriptions with pictures! That's not what I was looking for! What I wanted to do is to read about her 'three keys to health and lasting weight loss', and when I was browsing about this book, I didn't find anywhere or anyone mentioning about those exercise descriptions. I am not going to return it, because the price is a joke, and going to give it a try...

Nothing new - same stuff different format
Although I am not overweight, I have some issues with food, and wondered if this book would help. From a dieters point of view, it doesn't tell you anything you won't already know, although if you like Jillian and want some motivation, perhaps it will help. However, from a positivie thinking point of view, there are some good bits in this book - basically she tells you about believing in yourself and what you can do if you put your mind to it, and I liked this aspect of it. For the money it's a decent read, but don't expect miracles over night - Jillian would be the first to say you have to work hard to get the body you want. I would however recommend her dvd's!!

Learn how to change your lifestyle
This book will tell you not only how to eat right but how to put your mind set on losing weight. What I most loved about it is that it offers a way to find what type your metabolism is and what types of food you need to eat if you want to lose weight. I was very pleased with the formula provided to calculate your personal calorie intake required, based on your personal job, lifestyle, workout level. I bought Jillian's DVD's in combination with this and is working pretty well for me.
