School book
Amazing Animal Babies (Look and Wonder)This is a high quality hardback book in bright colours with delightful illustrations. It is certainly an enjoyable read in the same way as any other colourful picture book. I had not come across a similar book before that takes a broad look at all sorts of different animal young. However, this book seems aimed at the classroom, since there are some basic suggestions for activities in the back for parents/teachers. That makes me wonder whether the book has been developed with or shown to an educational development specialist because, to me, it seems that some of the concepts are not explained from a basic enough starting point so would probably just pass the child by. Perhaps at this young age, children do not need to fully understand something and an overall idea is enough. For sale at the time of writing this review at £9.93 (RRP £12.99)

Ideal for EYFS classrooms or primary libraries.
So far I've enjoyed this series by Kay Barnham and Maddie Frost, but this hasn't been one to grab our attention unfortunately. Despite my daughters both loving animals this book didn't get them excited nor did either of them take it off for a little peruse as they have done with the other books in this range. However this is ideal if starting to talk about animals or if in EYFS a unit on baby animals as it goes through different species, habitats and behaviours as starting points for other activities.

Great series for young kids!
I really like this whole series of books. There aren't enough books about the natural world for young children and these are great. The illustrations are really eye catching and the text really sparks interest, wonder and curiosity. I would recommend getting all the books in this series and giving your kids a foundation of interest in the natural world. It will benefit them in years to come.

Good for classroom discussions
A good starting point for classroom discussions. It's only scratching the surface of the different animals of course, but it provides good information about where and how they live and the illustrations are pleasant and colourful. We have read a few other books in the series and find them informative and engaging with good suggestions for activities
