What a delight!
What a fun read! It's been ages since I read a novel that was this much fun. So well written. Loved the characters and and the beauty of the surroundings they lived in. Wish I could go on a park run with them.If you like a good book that relaxes you and makes you laugh, this one is for you!

A Fun Run
I really enjoyed this story of two workaholics and one lonely senior combing their efforts to create something the entire community can enjoy. I was unaware of the Park Run movement, and thought it was really interesting, even though I am a serious non-jogger. I'd highly recommend this story for a fun read when you want to leave your problems far behind you.

Another wonderful Jules Wake tale
Great story of setting priorities in your life. Jules Wake stories always have wonderfully full characters that you want find happiness. I love the quirky ones that help make the whole thing come together.

Uplifting read
It's difficult to find a charming romance that makes you love the characters and not want it to end, but this book is one. Thank you, Jules Wake!

Running side interesting but I didn't relate to Claire
Jules' books are my favourite escape novels but I wasn't sure about this one. I am not a runner and I'm usually happy to go to the gym but since lockdown I haven't been. Reading this I did feel that my recent inactivity was not good for me and I did walk around the lake of my local park.We meet Claire as a high-flying accountant commuting to nearby Leeds and so dedicated to her career she has little free time. When bumping into fellow commuter, Ash, she discovers a soulmate whose ambitions match her own. But after enjoying only one date, their lives take an unexpected turn.I was a bit confused by the timeline at the beginning of this novel. Claire scratches her arm while cutting her sister's hedge, Ash comments on this on their date but it is two weeks later she sees a doctor, which seems a long time as green fluid was leaking from it. At the doctor's Claire breaks down due to stress, and the doctor signs her off for a month. Later she goes to the park and meets an elderly lady who befriends her. Hilda has also befriended Ash who is suffering from depression following the sudden loss of his job. I have suffered from both conditions,at different times, and felt uneasy that both Claire and Ash seemed to regain their perspective on life so quickly.Jules obviously enjoys running and Saturday morning parkruns and I do not doubt they have helped people with the conditons Jules attributed to her character, but not in the timescale used here.

Keep reading great novel
Reading the first few pages of this I wasn't sure if it was for me but then I really got into it and enjoyed it very much. Park runs are in many places now and seeing the different groups of people walking or running around a park makes you feel good even if you, for health reasons can't join them. This made the reading of this book all the more real with the different age groups taking part and where their lives take them. This is a 5 star novel and to Jules Wake, very well written and I look forward to read your new books. Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for this ARC copy in return for an honest review.

Loved it!
This is my first Jules Wake read, and I LOVED IT! The story is a wonderful wake-up call about achieving a good work-life balance, making good friends and taking time for the things that matter. The characters are mostly warm and friendly – people you are happy to share time with. Claire’s sister, Alice, is the exception, but her actions help provide the catalyst for change in Claire’s work filled, but otherwise empty, life. Hilda, an older character, was a blast – I loved her no-nonsense say it as it is ways. Claire and Ash shared a lovely connection that held me from the beginning of the story and kept me interested all the way to the end. It was refreshing for the hero to be vulnerable and to make mistakes, even after it seemed things might be sorted. Overall this is a fab book that will leave you with a big smile. And there’s a dog, what’s not to like?

Really absorbing
Every time I read a Jules Wake or Julie Caplin book I think: "This is the best yet.' So THIS is the best yet!I loved everything about Claire and Ashwin's story, including the insightful handling of their issues with work/life balance. The elderly and quirky Hilda (I think I want to be her when I'm older) is a wonderful character and the two little girls, Poppy and Ava, just leap from the page. I read the book over two evenings. I did try to go to sleep at one point but then picked my Kindle up again because I just had to finish the book.I'm just glad that Jules and Julie (Caplin, her other writing name) write so many books so that there's never too long to wait for the next.

Wonderful
As a keen park runner myself, I was immediately attracted to this book. It was everything I hoped for, brilliant uplifting story, wonderful characters and a few life lessons. I found myself talking to Claire, egging her on to make the right choices, laughing and crying with her. Hilda is a fantastic character, everyone needs someone like her! I could go on for hours, but I’ll just say this - read this book, it’s brilliant!
