The mutual admiration society of Cadence records and Johnny Tillotson continues with a further 2-On-1 release of a pair of his most popular albums for Cadence Records. These two have never been released complete on UK CD before, and between then they cover the years 1962-64, when Cadence folded and Johnny moved to MGM. 'It Keeps Right on a Hurtin' was a huge pop and country hit for Johnny - who composed it himself, in tribute to his musical hero Hank Williams - and both that song and the whole album were recorded in Nashville, using the City's A-list musicians. "You Can Never Stop Me Loving You" is more pop-oriented and features JT on a selection of hits of the late 50s by the likes of Rick Nelson, Ritchie Valens and Frankie Avalon as well as the title track, originally a UK hit for our very own Kenny Lynch. This package also features a desirable 'collector bonus' in the form of the first take of 'It Keeps Right on a Hurtin' (the master was take 7) - which has never been issued before, anywhere in the world. Johnny Tillotson was a very talented singer and an accomplished songwriter too. His first #1 hit was a tune by the name of "Poetry In Motion" which was popular on the Rock-'n-Roll Charts as well as the Pop Charts in the year of 1961. However, in 1962, Johnny would be serving Uncle Sam in the U.S. Military. But, like Elvis Presley, Johnny continued to record when it was possible, and continued to have Top #5 and Top #10 singles to hit the charts. Johnny's next biggest hit would be a song he wrote himself called: It Keeps Right On A-Hurtin, which was considered to be one of the best Country Songs in 1962. So, if you love good music ~ give these 2 LP's on one CD a listening to! :)

I am not a Country Fan, but . .
I had to get this album after hearing it on someone else's office computer, recently. Growing up, it was one of the only albums in the house to play on the new "phonograph player." I couldn't afford to buy my own albums. The Beatles were just coming out, Beach Boys, Steppenwolf, Led Zepplin, etc. . . . They were on the radio, of course, but in rural New Mexico, the only stations you could hear good music on was after dark, on KOMA, Oklahoma City. So during the day, doing chores, this Tillotson album really grew on me, subconsciously. I am not a country fan, but this CD hits a sweet spot.

...for living in the love of music in a way that satisifies lifelong music lovers so well. It happens that "You can Never Stop Me Loving You was about the sixth record given to me in my life by my dear cousin Jeanie, who taught me to learn and love every current top 40 record and collect them all if I could. How blessed it is to have this record back in my life, so lovingly presented. Simply seeing the name Ace and Kent on a CD calls to me like an old friend's smile and embrace.

A Great Singer, and this was his best album ever; a sound like no others. I really hate the way Amazon has a demand on how many I should use to review a product - What a bunch of horse pucky!!!

Half and half
This is two albums on one CD, the first is great, the second, is not worth my time, I don't know why people screw these albums up like that, add and take off when you got a perfect album with just the first one. They do that with all the old singers nowadays, add a few bad songs onto an album, and it screws the classic album up. This CD is very good if you are a fan. Every song is one of his hits. The sound is so clear on each song. His interpretation of each song is excellent as he has a country and western background that he brings this into the pop culture. He does it well. I recommend this CD very much
