nice book... good delivery....

I am a great fan of Julie Garwood, I have read all her historicals and was very disappointed when she started writing contemporary novels. I still gave her new books a try and wasn't disappointed at all. This book is just so intense and exciting, once you start you can't put it down. This story has it all: suspense, romance, great characters and a compelling story that pulls the reader in. A must read and another top notch book by Julie Garwood.

前作「MERCY（標的のミシェル）」主人公だったミシェルの兄・ジョンポールとFBIで働くアヴェリーが主人公です。前作で殺し屋として重要な役目を果たしたモンクも登場。今回は彼の恋も描かれています。前作・前々作に比べると、ロマンス度はやや低めのような気がします。実の親に捨てられたうえ、ある事件で体に取り返しのつかないけがを負っているため、今まで付き合ってきた男性からは冷たい目で見られてきたのにそれに負けることなく、強く、たくましく生きているアヴェリーと、そんなアヴェリーを特別視することなく、守っていこうとするジョンポール。二人の会話もテンポがよく、楽しいです。ハラハラしながらも、楽しく読むことが出来ました。

just started reading and found some characters from Mercy.

Of course I had to like this book because it was written by Julie Garwood. I have never picked up a book by JG that I have found fault with. She's a wonderful writer. This book - even though it was good - was not one of my favourites, but, I still enjoyed reading it. I just don't care for the long wait before the two main characters get together. JG doesn`t usually write that way...but, she did with this one. She usually has them liking each other near the beginning of the book and, also, comes up with some great dialogue. I read, and then re-read all her books. They`re delightful. Thank you
