Shiva Rea's Prenatal Yoga

This video and Zen Mama with Rainbeau Mars, have gotten me through a difficult pregnancy. The instructions are easy to follow, and modified for each trimester. Not a hard work out by any means. If you are looking to relax, stretch and ease back pain, this is the video for you. If you are looking to break a sweat (and kudos to you if you are pregnant and have the energy to do that!) you should look elsewhere. That said, I also have Zen Mama DVD and I do like it better. It's a little more challenging than Shiva Rea's workout.

Although this video has an intro that you can't skip over, it's worth fast forwarding. There are three variations of the poses for all three trimesters. I'm not a beginner, but I'm also not a pro at yoga and this video has been great. The moves strengthen and stretch all of the right muscles, joints, and ligaments. I'm giving this a four because I would prefer to have the option to start the video at the beginning of each segment.

I love Shiva Rea and the prenatal routine in this video - very relaxing, strengthening, and easy-to-follow modifications for each trimester. It was advertised, however, to have a bonus postnatal routine on the DVD as well, but that is non-existent. Considering that was half the reason I purchased, I am very disappointed.

I thought this was a good prenatal yoga dvd, but it was long. I purchased it near the end of my 1st trimester, and used it a few times before I gave up and just did the exercises on my own. I found that once I was carrying around all the extra weight I didn't have the energy to sit through an hour of yoga, not to mention needing bathroom breaks! And the modifications for the 3rd trimester were so much that it didn't seem worth even doing.

I loved this yoga dvd! I knew when I became pregnant that I would do prenatal yoga but didn't want to have to go to a studio to practice. This dvd allowed me to practice in the comfort of my own home and it helped me stay in shape throughout my pregnancy...I will keep this dvd around for my next pregnancies! I also love Shiva Rea...I have already invested in another dvd of hers!

My daughter said this is a nice yoga tape but that it is long. Maybe better suited for an experienced yogi who is pregnant and has lots of time to do yoga.

This was purchased as a gift, but the Bonus 60 min Post Natal DVD that was advertised with this was not received.

Great prenatal video. It says it has a bonus postnatal video which it does not, hence my two stars. Very disappointed. Please add the postnatal video or take it off the packaging!

Yo hago yoga desde hace tiempo y tenía miedo que no l contenido fuera demasiado básico, pero me ayudó bastante a mantenerme activa y a calmar las molestias de espalda del embarazo. Me ayudó a mantenerme flexible y relajada, a veces hacia la rutina completa otras veces la mitad. Si lo recomiendo mucho.

I recommend this video to all my pregnant clients and my family too. Safe and good. The two important things in a good prenatal yoga class. Thank you Shiva Rea.

Excellent prenatal yoga video. Easy to follow if you have previous yoga experience. Some movements need to be modified by me personally, but it depends on your range of motion.

I have really liked other videos by Shiva Rea, but found this one didn't really work for me during pregnancy. It was okay, and gave lots of modifications, but the length of the sessions made it hard to fit into my daily routine and I found that because of this I didn't end up using it regularly.
