Very hard to turn
Hard to turn and also inconsistent resistance.

Trash
3 out of 4 of the tuners I got are junk. They bind up and the gears do not mesh well with the worm gear. I tried playing with the gear alignment and it helped a bit but a lot of material gets stripped off and soon the teeth probably won't make any contact.

Good price, not great tuners
I ordered these intending to put them on a Mexican P-Bass (which I bought in parts for a custom build, so it didn't have tuners already). They aren't a drop-in replacement and would have needed new screw holes to be drilled. If they were nicer, I would have just drilled new holes and kept them, but they're on the lower end of tuning machine quality. The gears feel rough and there's a bit more slop than I like (all tuners have a little bit of slop, even high end ones after a few years of use). So, if you've got a Squier with broken tuners, these might be a good choice, but they're not an upgrade for any but those really cheap box tuners that come on the lowest end Squiers.I rated them three stars because they're really cheap and the order was delivered quickly and in good condition, but they aren't great. I can't think of many use cases for them, as they aren't really an upgrade for even quite cheap basses. I guess if you're building a custom bass and just want something really cheap that works.

3-1/2 stars... Looks good on a "blackout" bass, but has quality issues...
I like that they completed the look on a "blackout" parts bass I got from my local pawn shop. I like the low price - very affordable. I dislike the chipped paint/finish on one of the paddles. I dislike having to drill new screw holes for mounting. I like that they covered the old screw holes. I dislike the play in the peg when de-tuning. I like that they hold tune, as long as I "tune up" (i.e. bring the string up to pitch from flat when tuning).

Bigger
They look great super excited... I am remodeling my jazz bass squire. The problem is that the wholes in the head are too small. I need to find the right size drill bit and drill some new wholes. It has become a project but it is interesting to say the least. Does anyone know the correct size of these tuning mechanisms?

Cheap
They’re definitely cheap, the gear on the back seems to be a little too large for it and I had to free spin the tuner before I installed to make it easier to turn. This ground the gear a bit and dropped some metal shavings. But decent enough quality for the money. My old ones snapped and these haven’t snapped under load yet.

Mounting screw holes may not line up with originals.
I was fixing up an old bass for a friend. These were better quality than the old broken ones I replaced. Mounting holes didn't all line up so I filled original holes with toothpick tips and made new holes for the mounting screws. Original holes were all covered by new tuners and didn't show. Good value for the price.
