Furniture of America Castile Solid Wood Contoured Seat, Slatted Back, Dining Room, Accent, Side Chair, Set of 2-Dark Brown

I did not quite know what to expect, as this was the first time I ordered furniture online. I decided to do this after realizing that the local furniture stores are getting pretty much the same products form the same place, and the price here was better. I was also concerned about damage during shipping. After a few calls to Amazon, then the shipper, then the local trucking company to find out where my packages were (they were saying they had called me to reschedule delivery several times, but that never happened), it finally arrived, one LARGE and HEAVY box with the table, plus 3 big boxes with the chairs.Assembly: I moved and assembled everything by myself. It helps to have someone else to move it to where you want to put it together, but it can be done. I recommend assembling the able base while laying it on its side, then put the top on the floor and placing the base/legs on in (instead of setting up the base, then lifting the top and putting it on top, UNLESS you have a couple of people to help you). I was alone, so this worked very well. Everything was there, all the holes lined up, excellent brass hardware, I was rather surprised. I only had to struggle a little with one bolt on a chair, but that was it. It takes a few hours to put it all together. I recommend using some good quality wood glue on the chairs, which will ensure they stay put without wobbles for longer.Quality: very nice, actually, considering the price. The chairs are heavy and strong, the wood and stain looks excellent. There was one small crack on the base of the table, but it was minor and can't be seen, I did not bother with it. The table is strong and stable, no wobbles. The top is some sort of veneer, but it looks very nice.All in all I am very pleased with my purchase. Amazon was, as always, great with the lost in transit issue, and got on the ball ans made sure the issue was resolved. They also issued me a small compensation for the trouble, which was a nice gesture.

Initially I ordered one set. I now have four sets. At first, they are a bit complicated to assemble, but after you figure out which pieces & which bolts go where (instructions are not clear), they are easy to assemble. The chairs themselves are very sturdy and super comfortable. They are a beautiful rich brown, not too dark and no undertones of red. They are very comfortable. Very good value.

Beautiful table set. Had to replace several times initially, due to defects in furniture. The company and Amazon was very good to make sure I received a quality set. However, after almost one year, the table leaf is warped. Very unhappy about this latent defect. I need it replaced.

Fit perfectly in our informal dining area - A small area that was difficult to find a nice table to fit in.Construction - VERY easy. A handful of screws tightened up using the provided allen wrench. Easy Peasy.Just one note for everyone - this table comes with a LOT of packing. It's nice that the company makes sure the table gets to you undamaged. Just be aware - you will have a LARGE amount of packing to throw out / recycle.Beautiful table - easy to construct - SOLID. Unbeatable price. 5 stars.- Ron Donofero

This is an absolutely beautiful and solid wood table BUT....2 of the 4 holes for the legs were drilled too close to the center and when assembling the bottom to the top, one of the holes on the top was drilled a centimeter too far to the left.After putting it together, when pressure is applied to the top (e.i., putting your elbows on the table), you can feel the table slightly move....not to the point where something is loose because I had to take care of myself but to the point where you can tell there's no support around the edges of the circular top since it's held by the center. I know others with round tables and theirs is solid with no slight movement & sturdy so I'm a little disappointed in this one. I guess not all round tables are made the same.Other than that, it's beautitul to look at.

Actually a very sturdy well cut kit. It helps to seperate all the hardware out before you start. Also, consider any distractions that always seem to ramp up with home jobs like this. The last step, when you are putting the cross legs on, be sure not to fully tightenthe front legs that support the seat. You'll need a little wiggle room to allow the cross supports to slip into the assigned slots. There was a factory caused scratch across the front facing edge of one chair. A quick application of Old English Scratch Cover for Dark Woods did the trick. Somewhere down in the comments, I read that a customer or customers found mold on parts of the chair. I did find some small areas of a white mold on the bottom of the seats. I just used Old English on those spots. They were a "Gone Johnson" after that. Packaging held up amazing well, considering how far it traveled . I did have a rubber mallet on hand. I've learned that if one is tempted to use it, slight taps and then count to ten.Be prepared for a lot of foam peanuts and the by product, really,reallysmall pieces of foam peanuts. A shop vac at hand would give a bystander something to do ?I do have some observations on the angle of the back rest. I have lower back issues as in needing a strict 90° back set. I would find a need of a small support, if I'm sitting through a lengthy dinner of sort.If you any questions, I hope I have a answer for you.Hope this helped !Groom Lake :)

I buy everything from Amazon - for my house and for luxury homes I furnish for work and I never leave a review but I searched high and low for nice dining chairs and drove all over the place and all I found were way overly priced or cheap chairs everywhere I went. These chairs are perfect! Sturdy, comfortable, stylish, American company although I believe they are made in Vietnam (not China anyway). I love them! I put gripper chair cushions on and they look great. I bought 10 and this is one of the best things I've gotten from Amazon when you consider everything including price, shipping time, quality, etc. Don't hesitate to get these!
