Quite interesting
Good love story. Enjoyed the idea of a child discovered by its father years later. Not too keen on the switch between the past and the present though. All in all a good read.

Enthralling
This was an enthralling read. The story has flashbacks to eight years ago but this is smoothly done. I loved the initial connection between Ara ( Araminta) and Clay and even though they deny it, and eight years have passed, the connection is still there. I also enjoyed how their story slowly unfolded and it was revealed how Clay got his scar. Alongside this, is the real threat of the Fenians. This underlying threat is a constant thread throughout the story and provides the reconnection of Ara and Clay. Leo, Duke of Carlisle, also makes an appearance and I’m looking forward to his story.

What a pity
The story about two lovers separated by family dishonesty was moving and quite exciting in places but, for me, it was completely spoilt by an excessive amount of explicit sex. I will not be reading any more books by this author.

Wonderful Read.
Nobody’s Duke is the first book in Scarlett Scott’s League of Dukes series, and I was eager for this one after enjoying the lead as a side character in Her Deceptive Duke. Note, however, that you do not need to read Her Deceptive Duke to understand Nobody’s Duke. It’s nice to have extra information on him, to see certain things, but it is not a necessary.Although I did enjoy Nobody’s Duke, I didn’t enjoy it quite as much as I enjoyed Her Deceptive Duke. Her Deceptive Duke had a bit more action in it than Nobody’s Duke, leaving me to feel as though things came together a bit too easily in this one. Despite this, as a whole, I really enjoyed Nobody’s Duke. With plenty of drama between the two characters, Nobody’s Duke will have you hooked from the very start. You’re sucked into the chemistry between the two characters, you’re left desperate to see how everything comes together, and you cannot put the book down until you see how everything plays out. You become truly invested in their story, there are plenty of things you are desperate to see, and it leaves you more than willing to devour the book.Without a doubt, this was a great first book in the League of Duke series, and I’m eager for book two!

Cosy Regency Romance
Nobody's Duke provided a much-welcomed way to escape reality for a while and disappear into the world of a historical regency romance. The main couple of the story is Ara and Clay - a pair of star-crossed lovers who must overcome all odds to achieve their destiny of a lifetime spent together. Right from the very start, it's clear that the pair is meant to be together and before long, you will find yourself rooting for them and hoping they manage to achieve their biggest goal.Although there are few surprises or twists in the story, this is still a fun, enjoyable read which concludes with that all-important happy ending. If you are looking for a romantic read to help you while away a few hours immersed in someone else's love story, this is the book for you.

An amazing second chance, bodyguard historical!
Nobody’s Duke was described as having similar vibes to Again the Magic (by Lisa Kleypas) and honestly that’s all I had to hear to add this book to my tbr. 😅 And I’m so glad I got to it because it definitely delivered on those vibes plus had its own unique plot/story too! This was my first time reading a book by this author and I was so impressed…such an angsty, bodyguard, second chance romance. When the dangerous men who killed her husband in a political assassination threaten her life as well, widow Ara, Duchess of Burghly, is assigned a bodyguard. But her bodyguard, Clayton Ludlow is no stranger to her…Clay is actually the bastard son of a Duke and was once Ara’s first love! Now it’s 8 years later and the angst between them being around one another against is sooo good. Ara also has her young son to protect and we find out early into the book that he’s actually Clay’s son but he just doesn’t know it yet. Again, the angstttt!I loved the flashback scenes back to when they first met. Seeing Clay protect Ara and bond with her son too was so good. Clay definitely felt like he wasn’t good enough for Ara being born on the wrong side of the blanket, his father and her father were enemies and that added another layer of drama. I just loved this romance, it delivered on the romantic moments, the angst, and the steam so well! Him calling her “Ara-mine”, I’m trash when a historical romance hero calls the heroine this nickname with her name! 🥰

nur noch darüber gelesen
Für mich war jeder 2. Satz schon einer zu viel, was schade ist, den ansonsten finde ich die Geschichte gut und auch der Schreibstil gefällt mir.

Did like it!
I liked the plot and the whole story, but found it was a tad long winded in some places, which made me skip some paragraphs/pages, which was a pity, really. Well there u are! Otherwise a good read.

Excellent.
A good start to this new series which actually feels more like it should be book 7 of Wicked Husbands.I would suggest that a new reader starts with Scarlett’s series “Wicked Husbands”before starting this series because of background history to this storyline.
