Excellent little radio for the price
I had my misgivings about buying this radio. But, the price couldn't be beat.It was easy to program using the included programming cable and free CHIRP software. The radio is surprisingly solidly built, but small enough to stash in my pocket.Reception is a bit tinny, but transmission is apparently very clear. It easily reaches the repeater some 10+ miles distant.Overall, a great buy since everything but the programming software is included. However, that can easily be downloaded for free .

Interesting product
The first one charging cradle failed. Replacement works fine. As with the UV 82HP I also own, it's a challenge to program except with CHIRP.Hits local repeater from 5+ miles. Simplex ok within a mile is best I've tested so far. Battery life OK - Down to 6.9 volts after Full VHF band scan for 12 hours. Not a top quality device, but is certainly worth the few dollars it costs.

Perfect for scanner only.
It’s easy to use if know what you are doing. But be sure to know the law for this device. And the licenses you need.

Higher Powered HT Ham Radio
I already have 2 Baofengs and this one is higher powered with a larger battery. It will be a great addition to my Ham Radios.

I might need some additional help...
This thing isn't the easiest to get the hang of. Will definitely need to check out some YouTube videos on how best to set this up. However it seems to be a very good value. Lot's of good reviews of BAOFENG units.

A lot of radio for the money.
As you probably know, if you don't have an Amateur radio license, you cannot transmit on these radios. While I do have a GMRS license, I am not authorized to transmit on Amateur frequencies, so I didn't do so.Reception is very good and you can listen to anything that I am aware of without a license. This radio comes with a programming cable, which is nice. It also has a higher capacity battery than my UV-5R, which is also a big plus. Build quality is pretty good for a radio in this price point.Seems like a lot of radio for the money. 4 star rated and recommended.
