Can't get a cooler looking fan than this!
Although the name is "Nautical" I think of this more like a Galileo-style design. Anyway, I - and everyone else - simply LOVE the look of this fan! This will enhance ANY room!If you need to add lights, it is built to accept (almost?) any add-on light package you choose. As with almost every ceiling fan, installation is about the same as every other. This one also needs a little bit of assembly, but if you're able to tackle the installation, the assembly will be both easy and fun!As far as performance goes, the fan works pretty well - maybe not as well as solid-blade fans, but not bad. Don't worry, it definitely moves the air, but if the only thing you need is a fan to really chill a room, this isn't your best choice. But if you want a fan that throws some air around while REALLY looking beautiful doing it, this is your baby! And one thing to feel comfortable with, like most higher priced fans, the motor quality is good! Silently turns, and except for the breeze blowing in the room, you wouldn't even know it's on!One important note: you 'may' need to drop the fan an extra 4 or 6 inches from the ceiling with a small extension piece/tube (any fan store or fan department in a hardware store sells them - cheap & easy to install!) to put more air between your ceiling and the fan blades. When I first installed this without an extension and got the beautiful blades quietly spinning, almost nothing happened, air-wise! I thought the blades were angled too shallow, or were badly designed. Turns out this is such a common issue that everyone who sells fans also carries the extender accessory part. No big deal (unless you were hoping to hang this fan on a really low ceiling!)Although it's a fairly pricey fan, I never had a moment of regret. It's that beautiful and it works fine!

They are awesome. A little tricky to install at first but ...
Edit: After 2 years installed all of the exposed metal has a fine layer of rust on it. I would not buy again.Bought two of these fans for a pool house. They are awesome. A little tricky to install at first but a little patience goes a long way. They move an OK amount of air and they look fantastic.

Rusted, faded
Springs that hold the material to Frame is not SS, so rusted immediately. Fan kit also rusted within 2 months. Material faded and now looks like crap. Spent too much on this fan to hate it less than a year later.. When I sent email to Dan's they did not even rely. Save your money if you want to install this outside in Florida.
