This is a Fantastic book.It ties in with the others seamlessly, and has an amazing, fast paced and gripping storyline

I really like the way this series is being handled by the author. Each book ties to the prior one but not by using a the same character all through the series. New characters are added while existing characters are just waiting to be brought forward again. There is a feel for the history of the time that is made up of many peoples struggles rather than one. And the great thing is that all the characters are so well written. The adventures never cease and you are excited about who you will meet next and what peril they will be under - while knowing that the first characters you met are just waiting back in Seattle for you.

Die Region, in der Clementine spielt, enthält deutlich weniger "Fiction" als der Roman "Boneshaker" aus der Clockwork Century-Reihe. Umso mehr habe ich mich daher über die vielen kleinen Anspielungen an die Handlungen aus Boneshaker gefreut. Insgesamt fand ich das Buch leider etwas kurz im Vergleich zum Vorgänger, aber die Geschichte bietet Humor, Spannung und Action in hinreichendem Maße.Für Freunde des Genres ist dieses Werk meines Erachtens durchaus geeignet.

Cherie Priest keeps hitting the steampunk nail right in the head. She skillfully created a complete world of characters and situations that interconnect gracefully and all submerged in very intense and vivid action. The only downside to this book? too short, I swallowed it in a few hours. Totally worth buying/reading, but I would suggest buying it with the other books of the clockwork century to get a complete experience.
