Works as Expected but with some design issues
I purchased this Fire LA Mini Wireless 2.4G Backlit Touchpad Keyboard to use with my new Android TV box. (But also tested it on Windows 10 PC)Included in purchase:- Keyboard- LiPo Battery- USB Charging cableFirst Impressions:At first I thought that the USB 2.4G adapter was missing from the package, however, I found that once removing the battery cover on the back (which was a bit difficult to remove), the dongle is clipped into a spot near the battery.- The dongle was clipped tightly into the unit and when I removed it part of the plastic dongle covering snapped off.- I had to snap it back on and add a little super glue to keep it in place.- The way the battery is held in place in the compartment is a little sketchy. If the device is dropped, the battery will come loose and you will need to reseat. I added a piece of foam inside the battery compartment cover to always keep the battery in place.Weight and feel:The unit is very light and the plastic has a semi-rubberized feel. The buttons are rubber and have a positive click when pressing. The touchpad is small but very responsive and precise.Backlighting:The unit lights up when waking up after a first button press. The amount of light is sufficient for operation in low or dark environments. However, the among of light distributed across all the buttons does is not consistent. The lighting is brighter around some keys and dimmer around others. The backlighting shuts off after ~20 seconds, when the unit goes to sleep to save battery power.2.4G Performance:The Range is very good. I was able to user the keyboard in any location around my media room. I did not experience and interference with other 2.4 G devices or the unit itself.Functional Compatibility:I tested this keyboard with an Android TV box, and a PC running Windows 10.The keyboard, mouse pad and other function buttons worked flawless with both the Android TV Box and the Windows 10 PC. It just worked with no messing around. Conclusion:For the price of $14, this unit performed as expected and included the backlighting. I am ok with the purchase. There seems to be a lot of these clones out there and they may have similar issues. I cannot speak for the competitor’s devices, since this is the only one I own. There are, however, a few cons with the device that you should be aware of, listed below.Pros:- Low price- Rechargeable cell phone battery- Unit sleeps to save battery charge- Works with Windows 10 and Android TV Box- Very good touchpad performanceCons:- Hard to remove battery cover- Dongle was hard to remove from holder inside battery compartment.- Dongle enclosure popped open and needed to be fixed with super glue.- Battery sometimes comes loose inside compartment. I had to add a piece of foam to the battery cover so that it would keep it in place.- Aesthetics: The backlighting brightness is not consistent across all the keys.

Great All-In-One Combo For Android Boxes & More!
I purchased this mini wireless touchpad keyboard to use with my Android Box. It worked right out of the box.My summary:- Product quality is pretty decent.- Price is reasonable.- The keyboard is very easy to use. The touchpad for mouse control is small but does the job.- It is a good companion for our Android Box.- Wireless range is good. No problems so far.- Most importantly, it is small and is backlit, with auto-dim.- Goes into sleep mode within three minutes, then you can press any key and it wakes right up.- It's a mouse and keyboard all-in-one.This is a much better wireless keyboard than another one that I have previously purchased. This one works pretty well. The touch-pad has the perfect sensitivity - not too much and not to low. A very good and versatile keyboard. You can sit on your sofa and watch movies, control the volume, pause and play, and a lot more!Contents provided are:1 - Keyboard & Mouse Combo1 - USB wireless receiver1 - User Guide1 - Charging data cableOverall, this is a decent wireless keyboard, and I would recommend it over other brands.I appreciate you for taking time out to read my review.

Has 2 must have features the others don't have; super easy to use with Kodi
Bought for use with Kodi on Fire. This 2.4 wireless mini-keyboards has 2 must have deal breaker features that most of the other mini keyboards don't include:1. A replaceable battery, and2. BacklightingWith other mini keyboards, the sealed rechargeable battery can only be used so many times before you have to just throw the entire unit away. Un-uh, not the way I roll. The others also are not backlit, which makes them all but useless for media center tv streaming and/or IPTV in lowlight rooms, both of which we do. Previous to buying a couple of Amazon Fire boxes, we were streaming with Apple TVs, from the 160 gb ATV1 in 2007 all the way to the 3. The workaround to searching by pecking out letters one by one on that remote was a tiny rectangular bluetooth mini keyboard. However, the Fire is such a superior dreaming device to the ATV that it was a no brainer to make the switch, add Kodi, then pair them up with this easy peasy wireless keyboard. I also like that you can switch keyboard colors between red, blue or green, as well as turn off the backlight completely. (I prefer this device with a green backlight.) Not sure what other reviewer were speaking to but there is an On/Off switch located at the top right front of the device, which also serves to pair the device up. I also didn't find the backlight to be overly bright and was pretty much the Goldilocks just right for us. Everything felt solid and tight, with nothing that rattled.Edit: Having noodled around with this Fire LA mini keyboard, I like it even more. Thus, I upped my rating to 5 stars. It is plug 'n' play and blindingly simple to use with our smart tv, with the Amazon Fire and w/ Kodi we run as a side loaded Fire box app. The backlighting is just enough in a darkened den or bedroom to navigate accurately, the keys feel like a nice, solid but soft touch rubber, the entire device rests comfortably in small or large hands, the replaceable li-ion battery means we'll be using this keyboard for a long time to come. The backlighting around the keys is uneven but your eye adjusts and it doesn't hamper typing. We've got 2 other Fire boxes around the house and will be buying 2 more of these mini keyboards to go with. I haven't gotten it to pair with our Samsung smart tv, but will revisit this review if I do get it to wirelessly connect. You can use this wireless keyboard for gaming, at least on the Amazon Fire, though it is not a smooth or thrilling experience.
