This is a good french press but the press is not the best. It pumps coffee out the sides if you press too fast or have the press set poorly.

The plastic used for these is very cheap looking. Not saying it's not perfectly functional -- it just LOOKS really cheap. I'm thinking these aren't going to be very long-lasting once in use :(

I'd jumped on the "K" single serve bandwagon and ended up being wasteful and dissatisfied. I couldn't wait to go back to a French Press. It's the best way to make coffee in my opinion.I'm in love with the styling and color of this one. The red plastic means no tarnished metal and it matches my kitchen. The free scoop that can clamp a bag shut is a nice touch. I also love the size! So many press are 12-16 ozs and this is double that. You can serve two to four people (depending on cup size) with a full carafe. So nice!As for the instructions... You can get away with buying regular ground coffee instead of coarse ground. It means you use less grounds for a fuller body. You'll get a bit of sludge at the bottom of the cup. I don't mind it, I just don't drink that bit. Also, they tell you to stir too early after pouring the hot water. You actually need to wait one minute and stir only the grounds that have "bloomed" at the top. This is the only way to get that beautiful and delicious coffee foam.***Coffee lover and ex-barista.

It has a great filter, and the bag clip is genius! I usually grind my coffee beans as needed, but the bag clip makes me want to buy ground coffee, since it's so convenient! This is my first french press, and I do notice that it makes a difference in the taste of black coffee. I feel this is great for serving immediately, but as you'd expect, it doesn't keep the coffee hot for as long as a coffee pot burner would. You'll have to get used to the disposing of the grinds, and cleanup, if you're accustomed to the coffee pot/Keurig methods. I use this brewing method when I have the time to enjoy a great cup of coffee.

I have been watching a series on TV that all take place in England and I noticed that everyone was making their tea and coffee with a French Press. For Christmas I received a gift of coffee from Italy that was designed to be made in a French Press, so I thought I'd give it a try. The instructions were easy and the coffee was wonderful. I have a Keurig which I have used for years, but as soon as my K-cups are gone I am switching over to the French Press. I made tea in it too and it was great. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants a truly great cup of coffee.

Coffee is not hot enough unless you pour boiling water over it which they don't recommend .. taste different too.

I bought this for when my boyfriend was in town, since I had no coffee maker, but I think I used it more than he did over his visit! I had moved away from coffee primarily because I didn't have a coffee maker in my new apartment, but this french press has renewed my love for coffee! I am even back to drinking it black! It tastes amazing out of the press, so much more smooth than my Mr. Coffee single cup ever made. The red also matches the rest of my kitchen appliances and it is really easy to soak and clean.
