The Greatest Car in the World!
I really like this book. It is all about the Bugatti Veyron and its versions of cars, including the Super Sport. There are fourteen chapters in the book (following an Introduction): Chapter 1, The Celebrity; Chapter 2, Early Auditions; Chapter 3, Attempts No. 1 & 2; Chapter 4, A Troubled Genesis; Chapter 5, Attempt No. 3; Chapter 6, A Brief History of Supercars; Chapter 7, Attempts No. 4 & 5 (Knocking on the Front Door); Chapter 8, An Afternoon with the Doctor; Chapter 9, In the Furnace of the Beast; Chapter 10, 'I'm not saying my Veyron is the best edition, but it's in the Top 1'; Chapter 11, The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport; Chapter 12, The Artist's Workshop; Chapter 13, What has THIS Bugatti Done for Bugatti?; Chapter 14, Living With a Celebrity. After this come Afterword, Acknowledgements, and The Veyron Project Team. The book was written with the full support of Bugatti. The Bugatti Veyron can go from 0 - 60 in just 2.5 seconds, and has a top speed of 253 mph! Not fast enough for you? The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has a top speed of 267 mph! Not a supercar, but a super supercar!

Great photography, very complete, some pages hard to read
And those pages are hard to read because the smallish-font text is printed on top of colorful photographs. Otherwise, this is an informed, amusing at times, knowledgeable and very complete history of a car that all but a few mortals will ever have the opportunity to sit in, let alone drive.

Bugatti book the bomb!
I bought this book as a gift for my son who is a Bugatti fanatic! He loves this book and looks at it all the time! And at the price is a steal compared to the other choices that are over $100!

Bugatti Veyron Book
Excellent little book not a technical tour-de force biography but the Author's quest with some interesting tech thrown in,and written behind the scenes look at the making of the Veyron, the personnel and factory as well as short history. A worthy tribute not exhaustively comprehensive but nicely written, nicely done and some nice photos.

OK but not a detailed development history
I am a little sorry to spoil this book's fun of five stars but I must confess that I was a little disappointed after reading it. The book is lacking in any real in depth coverage of VWs development of this awesome car and is pretty thin on technical development. I suppose I should have investigated the book more online before buying but I can't really complain at £12! However the author is not a motoring journalist of car expert. He is a celebrity ghostwriter (Westlife etc) and he is more obsessed with the "bling" and "celebrity" factor of the car than the towering technical achievements of the car. Details of the engine, gearbox and features of the car are reeled off as quoted from the sales brochure with no real analysis and a lot of the book covers the guy trying to blag a test drive in the car.I am not slating the author for this as obviously his brief was to write a mainstream book that will appeal to the general car enthusiast/Top Gear viewer hence the generally "tabloid" style of the writing. It is no technical bible such as Paul Frere's book on the Porsche 911 nor as other reviews have said in any way like "Driving Passion" the development history of the McLaren F1, although that last book costs £150. By all means if you just want to dream about owning one of these cars and fancy and enjoyable light read then go ahead and buy it but if you are an anaorak/geek like me who wants all the nuts and bolts etc you will not find it here.

An enjoyable read
I enjoyed this book. I wasn't looking for it, so Amazon's "you may like this" worked for me. It was cheap and the reviews were good. For its price it is very good. I liked the short chapters on trying to arrange a drive. Did he get one? I won't spoil it; buy it and find out. Either way the author ends up happy.

Fantastic for the price
This is a great book about the fantastic veyron. Don't expect the simply amazing "driving ambition" (about the mclaren F1) but for the price this book give some nice photos and lots of information about the development of this car. Recommended.

Read the supporting text
Delivery was great as it was urgent - sadly the book was ex-library with stamps all over it - indeed in good condition but the markings made it look poor - could have been my fault for not spotting this in the supporting text but honestly believe it was not made clear
