Cylinder worked like a charm to heighten the seat level for the Respawn 800 gaming chair which comes with a non adjustable cylinder that is like 3" in total and makes the chair sit almost on the ground. I saw the possibility of doing this from a review on the chair itself by another Amazon shopper. While Respawn doesn't recommend changing the cylinder it did so without any issues to the chair what so ever beyond making it sit at a normal comfortable level.

Takes a while to find the replacement with the correct dimensions (compressed and uncompressed lengths), or length dimensions that most closely match the original. Note that as long as your personal height preference is within the range of movement up and down then there's no need to ensure the replacement has the exact same length dimensions. Opted not to buy a replacement that comes with the removal tool. Having now removed the chair top from the top of the cylinder with a pipe wrench, using that tool instead looks like more work (couldn't get enough leverage with channel lock pliers; pipe wrench size used was 24"). Extended the chair to its max height, then set the chair on the floor on its side and gave the old cylinder about three whacks with a hammer which easily dislodged the base. Then grabbed the cylinder near where it enters the chair bottom with the pipe wrench and gave it one twist to pop it loose. Put the replacement on the upright base then sat the chair top on it. Took longer to carry to carry the tools back and forth from the garage that it did to do the replacement.

Put this cylinder into four chairs in our office that had 'failed' after just one year. These new cylinders seem to be holding up well so far, but TIME is the real test and I don't even have a year with them yet. Fingers crossed. If I needed to fix yet another chair, I would order this cylinder again, if that helps any.

Saved money by replacing my saggy cylinder on my chair instead of buying a new one. Removing the old one can be tricky though.

Exactly the right size but could have more lift. My choice.

Must have tools to remove original. Just the height I needed. Working well.

Easy to install and my chair is fixed.
