SKYWARD BOOK 2: STARSIGHT

This is the BEST book I have read this year!In the first book we saw the danger that the people from Detrius were in. In this, the plot expands to explore more about who these 'Krell' really are and what is their problem with the humans.This is a sequel where I felt that the story picked up the high standard of the first book, and raised it up by many many levels!Brandon Sanderson is just so amazing with his storyline! He is a master of giving just the right amount details so as to not keep us hanging and frustrated while at the same time not revealing everything. This satisfies our readers' curiosity but also creates the perfect excitement to know what would happen next. This is the pace that he sets throughout the book. And I loooveedd reading it! I was literally on the edge of the seat all the time!The plot is more complex in this one. Spensa and her people are facing bigger challenges, there's intergallactic politics, bigger and more dangerous space fights AND there is a new threat lurking around the corner, a threat that can potentially destroy the whole galaxy! And Spensa might just possibly have the means to stop this threat!I loved how Spensa's character was developed in this book. In the first book, she was mostly shown to be rash and angry and just so eager to always prove herself, and because of all this she puts herself and her team in dangerous situations. In this book, she understands what it means to be responsible for others' lives. She still gets angry at certain situations, but now she knows how to direct her anger in a better way. She still gets impulsive ideas, and well, she mostly does act on these impulses, but now she is more aware of what she should be doing and how not to unintentionally harm others by her actions. In short she has become more mature in this book. But she is still our spunky, hot headed, thinks she always has to do everything on her own, awesome Spensa!I loved M-Bot! I will always love M-Bot! He's just the best ! I want an AI like him! Even he showed improvement in his capabilities in this book, and now I am very very interested to know what all he can do, to what extent he can increase his procesing. I loved all the additional characters that this book introduced to us like Cuna, Hesho, Morriumur. I hated Winzik, but I loved hating him(them?). And our dear little Doomslug is such a darling!I loved that this book (or even the first book) is not like a typical YA book, where there is an appearance of a great danger but everyone still ends up being safe and happy, and where there is a plot in the beginning but in sequels it just becomes a grand romantic story!The danger is very real in this series! The consequences are hard hitting! And there is very less, to almost no focus on romance (it was just really one scene), but this story and these characters do not require romance to make it more interesting!The ending was just out of this world!!! (quite literally!)While reading the ending I was like, omg, OMG, wait what.. WHAT?!With that ending, I CANNOT WAIT for the third book, I want it now!!!

It is one of my favourite book series. Must read for sci fi lovers. Full fledged space opera book.

A very refreshing change and a great series.Brandon Sanderson leaves up to the expectation and surprises pleasantly at each turn. Bit predictable but all in all a fun read. Some bit even make you pause and think about how would you react if you were in that situation.

Brandon Sanderson does it again... Creates a universe that pulls you in, with always something new to learn about - characters that are well rounded and full of depth - and scenes that are filled with description.Must read

I ordered the paperback twice but the font was faded and then i invested in the hardcover and its still the same issue ,just a little more dark grey but not black ink.

Compelling plot, good characterization although nobody seems to ever get tired, and it would be nice to have a protagonist actually be an average person. Also very important, the universe was consistent.

Sanderson no deja de sorprendernos con cada entrega. No puedo esperar para leer el siguiente libro de esta saga. Si no lo has leído, hazte un favor a tí mismo y léelo.

It's a good story and read, following on from the first book. What more can you say?

This book is less emotional than the first book, but it's not less amazing. There is so much going on, we're learning so many new things, we're meeting so many new races and we get a different impression from the race we already met in the first book. I also really liked the politics in this book, and the promise that there's a lot more politics to come in the sequel. The true stars is the science though. It feels so real, so detailed and so believable. I almost can't believe that the author came up with all this! I can't wait to dive into the next book in the series.
