Mara CappellettiRolex: Investing in Wristwatches

Little more than a collection of auction results
The front cover of this book promises so much, the 319 pages after that deliver so little. The watches covered are a very limited selection of the whole Rolex range. There is an obsession with the Daytona model. Pages 63-145 are devoted to it.On the other hand, the YachtMaster is covered in two pages and only shows two watches from around 2010.The Milgauss model is covered extensively up to about 1970 and then stops.Very little information is given about the models and each watch is given about four or five lines of text (2 of which are the auction estimates and one is the auction result). The only highlight of this coffee table tome is the quality of the photographs. If you want a book you can flick through and admire some very desirable high-end vintage Rolexes, this might be for you. If however you want a book about Investing in Rolex wristwatches this is no more use than a handful of old auction catalogues- which is, coincidentally, how it was put together.
