Heaven in a jar.
Firstly I cannot use any vanilla essence from supermarkets, I’ve tried them all, and they have a horrible taste to them that is nothing like true vanilla, and all inevitably end up in the bin.Once I bought real Madagascan vanilla pods and I decided then and there, if I couldn’t have the real deal, I wouldn’t buy any at all. You might think I’m cutting my nose off despite my face, but, for me personally I wouldn’t use a substitute.Fast forward ten years. After mastering “true Ceylon cinnamon”- buns, light fluffy, and very moreish, my hubs asked for vanilla buns. Off I search…..I do, for a split second, consider the expensive supermarket vanilla extract…..but the thought of ruining my delish buns with bitter vanilla stops me from picking it off the shelf.I decide to trawl through Amazon and come across this pot of vanilla, humming and ho-ing I do some googling, but I still hesitate, because vanilla comes from Madagascar …right?…..one of the reviews here isn’t flattering and that’s another negative. I weigh up the alternative, shop bought bitter vanilla extract for the same price, so decision is made, I hit the buy button. When the pot of vanilla bliss arrived, the smell was pure heaven, warm, creamy vanilla, sweet, and moreish. I dipped my finger and savoured the taste of the most incredible vanilla I’ve tried. That very night I added half a teaspoon into my dough, and three teaspoons into the filling. The whole house smelt of the creamiest vanilla, I wish I could bottle that smell, believe me no candle, no scent has ever come close to the mouth watering warm creamy vanilla smell that was throughout every room.Needless to say my vanilla buns are the new request of the moment, not that I am complaining, because the vanilla is superbly creamy. What I have also started doing is adding the tip of spoon full of vanilla into my coffee….oh it is divine heaven in a cup, it beats that saccharine tasting fake vanilla syrup any day….for me…however if you have a sweet tooth you might want to stick to your fake syrups.Another plus for me, I love a bit of chocolate, but it has to be good chocolate, not mainstream. I don’t always have some lying around, so instead of chocolate, I find myself dipping my finger in my pot of vanilla, and savouring the creamy, sweet pure vanilla sensation that is heaven in a jar.

Good flavor and lasts long time
Easy to use, lovely flavor and smell. Lasts much longer than just using an extract

Lovely vanilla powder
Yes it's expensive, but it has lasted a long time. It has a lovely soft vanilla flavour and it is nice mixed with some coconut sugar and spinkled on top of pies, crumbles and stewed fruit. Just about to buy my second pot.

HARDLY ANY SMELL AND HARDLY ANY TASTE
Having previously bought Ndali vanilla powder and been very pleased with it I thought this would be a good replacement - BIG MISTAKE! For a start I couldn't remove the metal lid - it seemed to be cemented in place but ran some hot water over it to expand metal a fraction and was able to open jar - needn't have bothered. Please note NO water got into the product when I did this. Where was the "full and flavourful" smell as advertised - was I in fact looking at the advertised product with this description? In short will have to use this as now opened but will NEVER purchase this product again. I would have added photo but that would not help other would-be customers as to the actual smell and taste - or lack thereof. By the way my nose and tastebuds are fully functioning so the fault doesn't lay in my perception of the product! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Marketed as powder, but is actually granules
I bought this expensive, delicious-sounding vanilla 'powder' to make special hot cocoa for Christmas presents. Whilst the flavour was good, the texture is NOT. This is NOT powder. Powder imples very fine texture, and normally, powder dissolves. These are granules. They do not dissolve. They might be fine for baking, but they do not work for drinks. This vanilla left chewy bits in the hot cocoa, with the consistency of dried coconut, which was a bit gross. No one wants grainy, chewy bits in their hot chocolate. For baking, I'm sure it's great. For hot cocoa, it is totally unsuitable. The sellers need to change their description from powder to granules. I paid a lot of money for a product I can't use. Very disappointing.
