We feel in love with My Heart book so we couldn’t wait to read this. I was extremely disappointed to find and read with my 6 and 3 year old a page where the little girls pretends to marry a boy and then they swap roles and the boy is the bride and the girl is the groom. This was not ok and not something I want my littles reading and thinking about marrying and gender roles at such a young age. So sad. I wanted to buy all her books after ready in my heart but we won’t be buying anymore.

While we love all the books in this series, I think this one is my daughter's current favorite. She's been doing quiet time since she gave up naps at 18 months old. She sees herself mirrored on the pages of this book. I can't tell you how many times she's been a doctor, an astronaut, or any number of any other things during her time in her room. This features the same charming characters and illustrations.

Such a cute book! My daughter asked me for this book after she read one of the other books by the same author. She loves this book and it’s perfect for an 8 year old who is learning to read.
