Material is nice and heavy, same material as desert DBUs, and stitching seems adequate. But this hat is sized for a giant head. I'm no pinhead, I wear a size 7 soft cap / cover, but this was way too big. I was able to resolve this issue after I received another boonie from a different manufacturer, which had a drawstring incorporated in the brim lining. So my solution was to run a length of 550 cord inside the liner, to allow me to cinch it up a bit. Now it fits perfectly, and my head isn't swimming in it. It otherwise looks well made considering it's made in China, but what isn't these days.

This camo hat is good, but not quite what I was expecting and maybe a bit over priced for what you are getting. I think a fair price would be $5 and not $11. (I almost returned it). First, it is very flimsy. You could wad it up and put it in your pocket. I was thinking from the description it would have been a bit more sturdy and would keep its shape better. Second, the color is darker and more green than the picture for this model illustrates. (I had to check again to make sure I ordered the right one). Third, it is going to be too large for most heads. It was too big for mine and my head size is average. The size is actually 60 (which is the largest). The only way to keep it secure is to use the drawstring under the hat and to pull it tight. Fourth, from the description, I expected the rim of the hat to extend out on the sides about 1-2" further (like the military and safari ones) to protect from the sun more. As is, depending on the time of the day, the sun manages to get through at an angle because the hat rim (diameter) is smaller (1-2" all around) than the standard military or safari ones. Now for the good. The material, though flimsy, is of good quality and workmanship is good. There are no loose threads or loose snaps. Also, the drawstring is of good quality and it has a plastic slip knot at the end which helps you quickly size it and loosen it. I also like the fact that you can snap up the sides or leave them down. Also, what I call a disadvantage or one of the features, I do not like, others may find it to be a great feature and that is it being "flimsy". Some people may like that they can fold it to the size of a pocket square and stick it in their pocket. I was looking for a hat that would keep its form even when not on the head. One other nice thing that you don't always find in a hat are "washing and care instructions". Just inside the hat, they have them detailed out on the tag which will be needed. Overall, I rate a solid "B".

I've got a large head and this fits perfectly. It's breathable and protects my face from the sun. I've had skin cancer in the past and bought this for dog walks. It's durable and comfortable. I've washed it a dozen times or more and it's retained it's shape and appearance.

Ok I gave them 5 stars not because they are high quality but because they are not, but the price is good, and they do the job of providing protection from the sun they are easy to wash, and I do highly recommend that you wash them before wearing to remove any of the dye that will come out on the first wash.

The material seems to be good quality including the snaps and vents. Stitching looks good. Fit is spot on for me - I normally wear a 7 3/8 hat size.

Bought this to replace a smaller one (gave to my grand kid) ...it's a one size fits all and is just a bit large for me...but I can add some material inside that should help...stitching seems great, and several air holes in the hat...and a drawstring...I think I'm going to like this ....

This boonie hat is a cheap replacement for an original boonie had issued years ago by the US Military. It is smaller in circumference than the original hat, which doesn't provide the cover from the sun that the original one did. It does however work. A bit disappointing that the cut down on the materials and sold it as a replacement. Does everything these days get reduced in size in order to make more money?
