An oldie but goodie
This guide only has one photo per species, but it contains coral, sea plants, and animals. And at times, I could ID something with this book that I could not I’d with Humann and DeLaRoach, which are the gold standard guides. You need both.

Good pick
I bought this book for research material for a story I am writing and it did the job quite well. There are plenty of color photographs of live corals that were useful in writing descriptions and the text portions had most of the info I needed for the dialogue. I would call it a beginner's book but that is what I needed. It is a good way to learn about reefs without getting wet.

Still the best reference..
.. If you are not just into fish OR corals OR shells OR sponges OR.. but simply interested to understand more about what you saw on your last dive, and you dont want to rely on having a wifi connection, this is the book to take with you.

Awesome book, but...
... there aren't any guidelines or explanations how to identify the animals or corals. There are only pictures and names and sometimes the fish look really alike.
