Beautiful bamboo-you can see the bamboo texture, but it's smooth and no splinters. Works great for my macrame chandelier! Overall very happy with my purchase and excited that there are multiple sizes. I am using the 12 inch for my project.

These are great for diy decor if you are careful with the hoops! One of these unexpectedly snapped while in storage in my craft room. I should have put them in a more secure location. I was disappointed for sure, as I craft for a living.
