NOT Brushed Nickel. Performs well, best price for features.
.:FINISH:.The finish/outside covering and color is _NOT_ Brushed Nickel as this product is/was listed (officially named Krois Automatic Soap Dispenser Hand Touchless Stainless Steel Soap Dispenser-Perfect for Bathroom and Kitchen Fingerprint Resistant - Brushed Nickel when I purchased it on Amazon).Instead, the finish is what I assume is your typical fingerprint-resistant [brushed] stainless steel finish on the barrel where the stainless steel is seemingly covered with some sort of thin crystal clear lacquer. Stainless Steel (like this pump) is a little darker grey than genuine Brushed Nickel. The base and top of the unit are a plastic in a slightly metallic gray that matches the steel-covered barrel well (i.e., it doesn't look that obvious they are different materials and slightly different shades of grey unless you are holding it close for inspection). Nonetheless, this soap dispenser still looks nice on my white vanity/bathroom sink counter that has a true Brushed Nickel faucet. Frankly, I got tired of searching for a touchless soap dispenser in a true Brushed Nickel on Amazon, so I'm not going to be returning this one..:FUNCTION:.THAT BEING SAID about the finish, the unit functions consistently, with a uniform quantity/volume of liquid soap dispensed every time. It emits a low level of noise during dispensing. The only button on top functions as both the Power and the Volume/Quantity button. You press and hold that round rubber button for about 2-3 seconds to turn the pump on or off. A small red indicator light (facing the user from in the dark brown/smoke plastic rectangular area underneath the dispensing arm) will come on or go out when the unit is powered on or off.Once the pump is on, you may continuously cycle through the pump's three volume/quantity levels with each subsequent push of the button. After each volume-cycling button press, the red light will then blink twice, three times, or four times, corresponding with the relative amount of soap it will dispense (i.e., more blinks = more soap dispensed). If the pump is turned off and then back on, it will not remember the last volume/quantity setting. I use Meyer's Clean Day liquid (non-foaming) Hand Soap on the two blinks volume/quantity setting and that's plenty of soap for my normal daily needs. This pump also has a decent sized reservoir to not require frequent refilling (I've not refilled it yet in a Master Bathroom with two adults using it).The design is good in terms of sensor operation and soap dispensing position and operation. Unlike some automatic soap dispensers, this one will only dispense if something is placed in the sensor's VERTICALLY-aimed trigger zone--it will not be triggered simply by someone standing in front of it because the sensor beam does _not_ come out horizontally toward the user. With respect to position of the dispenser nozzle, it hangs out far enough from the barrel to both allow most adult-sized hands to be adequately placed underneath to catch the soap. While this pump will not cut it's dispensing cycle short should the user pull their hand away before the pump stops dispensing, any remaining soap will not fall onto the pump itself because the dispensing arm hangs out far enough away from the barrel portion of the pump body. And for that matter, the dispensing nozzle seems to have a good no-drip functionality and doesn't leave any soap hanging from it after it stops dispensing (i.e., you should not have to touch your hand to the dispenser nozzle to dab away a last drop after the pump's motor stops dispensing--this pump does not leave/create a hanging last drop). The base also has four pads that slightly elevate the bottom of the unit off the counter, so that water that might drip onto the counter-top should not affect the unit at all, not to mention providing good stability. My reference point in comparing this automatic/touchless soap dispensers is my automatic Umbra Tourno Sensor Soap Pump (purchased at Bed, Bath & Beyond) which I had for several months prior to purchasing the dispenser I'm reviewing here. I like this soap pump more overall because I feel it has better sensor function and better dispenser position and function. This pump also has adjustable volume/quantity and a bigger reservoir than the Umbra.Lastly, when I was shopping for these type of automatic soap dispensers on Amazon, I noticed (as you may have), that for certain products you will see that while the product name and/or seller may be different, the features, function, description, and product details are virtually identical. This may come down to intense competition from manufacturers of such products, and/or may represent a savvy product marketer testing which names and words attract and covert the most buyers. Regardless, of the four or five dispensers I researched on Amazon, all having nearly identical wording in their product descriptions, this one had a 4+ star rating, was the least expensive (about $15) and had free two-day Amazon Prime shipping. Good value for my money.Thank you.P.S. I did NOT receive any sort of discounted price or any other consideration for purchasing or even reviewing this item. I'm just a thorough researcher and trying to pay it forward and add value to the social shopping space with my real-life review of this exact product. Thank you to all those who've ever done the same.

2nd Failure
I purchased two from this company and both have failed. The pump just stopped. One failed 3 days past the 30 days return time, so now I can't return it. This was used no more that 10 times at the most, it's in the guest bath. So maddening.Update: the shipper shipped a new one, no question asked, I just got a notice of the new replacement being shipped. The new one works perfect. Changing from one star to four stars. Thanks for standing behind the product.

Great!
UPDATE2: Both items are now defective...UPDATE: First item I received was defective (stated below), but the company responded to my review and sent another one with very quick shipping and this item works perfectly. It's tough to find people willing to go the extra mile for their customers, but they did and I am extremely happy with the product. :)ORIGINAL POST: Was never able to turn it off or change the amount dispensed from day one - broken button sensor or something. Didn't get on the return early enough and am now stuck with it. Gets 2 stars though because it still works and is good size and style.

Came with wrong base.
There are so many of this style soap dispenser under so many different brand names I wasn't sure which one to get. I chose this one, and chose wrong. It came with the wrong base. The base would not fit on the dispenser so I decided to just use it without, against my better judgement. The legs of the base elevate the dispenser off the counter and keep it from sitting in water. After three months of use, the dispenser gave up due to my kids splashing water all over, and leaving the dispenser in a puddle of water. The batteries in the base corroded and I might be able to fiddle with it and clean it up to get it working again but I just plain don't want to.

I WAS happy with this dispenser
I am very happy with this dispenser. It works well, but I discovered it was sensitive. The first time I drained some veggies into the sink underneath the dispenser it set it off. The first time I turned off the overhead lights above the sink it set it off. I had to laugh. Now I just turn the dispenser off when doing heat or light types of things.UPDATE: This dispenser stopped working after its first fill-up and it started to leak from the bottom. We contacted the manufacturer and they gave us a full refund.

UPDATE
I purchased 3 of these less than 2 months ago. The batteries (4 - AAA) die in less than 3 weeks. One of my units stopped working at all today - will not dispense soap. I changed the batteries and cleaned it out and it still does not work. I would definitely not purchase again. I could have bought much better units for the amount of money spent on batteries so far.UPDATE: The seller contacted me after seeing my review and immediately sent me a replacement unit. As far as I'm concerned, that is great customer service! Thank you!

Worked well for a month.
Arrive with a tiny bit of water inside. The screws were rusted. Still used it anyway because that wasn't worth contacting them. Worked as advertised for about 1 month and suddenly stopped working. Nice product when it worked, just wish it had an off button so you can move it around without it constantly dispensing soap, but you just adapt to it. Just threw it away as it is useless now.

Great little gadget eliminating plastic cheesy looking dispensers
Had it for about three months now and no issues whatsoever. Great little gadget eliminating plastic cheesy looking dispensers. Haven't had to replace batteries just yet and it is being used a lot! One con is that the sensor is a bit too sensitive dispensing the soap even when you just briefly pass it with your hand. Not a big deal. I just put it closer to the sink so that when it is accidentally dispensed, the soap ends up inside the sink.
