Very beautiful and well balanced blade
The katana comes in a very nice silk wrap which is convenient for storage if you don't plan to store it on a display stand. It feels very nice to hold. The center of balance is about 14 cm from the cross guard (forgive me if that isn't the right term for a katana). The blade comes pre-oiled to prevent corrosion and it's fairly sharp. It's not super sharp, but you might accidentally cut yourself if you aren't careful. I tried the fingernail test on it where you angle the blade around 14 or 15 degrees and scrape it back against your fingernail. There where a few spots on the blade that managed to glide through the fingernail as it was shaving it. However, most spots on the blade got stuck and would have required extra force to carve away a fingernail shaving. This isn't super important to me, I was just curious.Overall, it's a gorgeous red blade with spirals all the way down. The sheath slides on and off pretty easily without being easy to accidentally remove (most of the time. I did have once or twice where it got stuck in the sheath if I put it in too quickly). The sheath is made from hardwood and wrapped in a faux leather. It comes wrapped with chord which has two loops so you can attach it to a belt.I was very satisfied with the katana so I will keep this one for myself and I've ordered another one for my brother.

Excellent Quality
I bought this sword as a piece of room decor... and I'm very impressed with the workmanship. It far exceeded my expectations...especially at this price point. It was extremely well-packaged and the blade is exceptional...I'd even dare to call it "battle ready".

Excellent katana
This is a beautiful katana, it is well made and everything is nice and tight. Mine came very sharp as well. This katana is well worth the price I paid for it, I would buy again without hesitation. The only problem I had was the carry bag was damaged when I got it, but I contacted the seller and they sent me a new one that was perfect.

Well worth the price
First of all I would like to say this is a VERY nice and sturdy sword and I have paid 3 times this price for something similar and as long as you can sharpen it... BUY THIS SWORD!!!! Whoever said it came very sharp was very wrong. …. I do 2 tests for sharpness and they are simple things to do... 1st position the blade at maybe a 60 or 70 degree angle over a fingernail and see if it wants to grab or slide with very light pressure.... a sharp edge will want to grab right away and not slide across your fingernail. The edge this came with would slide but grab only if you put weight on it. My second test for sharpness... get a Ziploc bag... because plastic like this isn't abrasive like paper. Use a magnet to attach one corner to something steel and hold the other corner with your fingers and do a slow downward slicing motion....slowly drawing the blade towards you....and it should slice the Ziploc bag like it didn't exist. As this sword came, it failed both tests badly but I use a 1 by 30 inch Delta belt sander... discontinued for 20 years now and PLEASE don't buy the Harbor Freight 1x30.... PURE JUNK and to get the belt tight you have to adjust it to be rubbing the frame. Anyways I use a 240 grit belt and another 600 grit belt on another Delta machine and then also a long leather strope like the barbers use nailed flat on a board. It only took me about 5 minutes to turn this mediocre edge into something razor sharp. The steel is listed as 1060 and that's good for this long blade and the sparks were correct. Honestly I've never bought a sword that I couldn't make sharper and for 100$ if you can sharpen.... this is a 300$ sword. I only gave 4 stars because of the edge.

Nice sword
First time sword buyer. It is a nice sword it’s fitted tight at all the joints. The wrap on the handle is tight and well done. Blade came oiled and wrapped in the sheath. The blade is sharp. It arrived in a faux silk bag. All in all it seems like a well made sword for $100.00. I ordered one that was in stock and got it in two days.

Incredible!
Wow, I have purchased other swords for more money that don't meet the quality level of this Kanata. The attention to detail is spot on! The blade is off the chart sharp! I've left in the plastic with the oil retention to ensure the carbon steel is protected - I can't recommend this sword enough - just absolutely beautiful!

Awesome
Awesome for price. Comes with a decent edge. Holds up for me well, and gave it a sharpen on stone and shaves hair like nothing

Very good quality for the price
Got mine in 3 days and it’s pretty high quality and whoever made it put a lot of care and effort into making sure everything was tight and clean. Very pleased.
