Hard to chew, but great mushroom flavor
These packets are very convenient for making a quick side dish. The mushroom flavor of this packet is great.This is a blend of rice and pasta, which I did not notice when I bought it. I thought it was just rice. This is actually mostly pasta (small, thin little pieces) with a little bit of rice. The ingredients list puts rice ahead of the pasta, but our packet was not like that.Now, the taste is great, BUT - I have dental problems, and pastas are very hard for me to eat. They tend to slide around and make me feel like I am choking on them. So this was pretty disappointing to me. I realize this won't be the case for everyone.So, if you don't mind more pasta than rice and love mushroom flavoring, this might be just right for you. Note that like so many prepackaged foods, this one "contains bioengineered ingredients". Not happy with that part either.

Reliable and Simple
No matter which type of these I buy, they always own up. No bad ingredients, no struggles, just a pot of water and and a spoon.I would like to add that if cooking with gas OR electric, it's ok to turn off the heat and let this product coast out on its own heat after about 5-7 minutes of boiling to medium, the rice or macaroni absorbs for a few minutes after.Either way, I have a bin of these because it's healthy and filling and does not make me feel like I'm lugging around a big gut of pasta.
