Great looking decoration! Decent build quality. The brass is shiny and the wood is solid and stained nicely. I have seen many of poorer quality at higher prices. I did spray some polyurethane on it because I have it hanging in an area that is sometimes exposed to elements, but the finish on it would have been great for indoor use.

Item arrived with one spar poking through the cardboard box, but fortunately was not damaged. For size versus price, this is an excellent deal compared to other similar products. The wood cutting is precise and well-fitted, and the brass center feels substantial. I'm using this as a wall decoration in a covered boat house, so it works perfectly for me. I do believe it would be suitable for a child's pirate ship playhouse. That said, the finish is terribly applied and bubbled, flaking off. Obviously it was applied in a humid environment and improperly dried. Packaging came with a large "Product of India" stamp, so for once not China.

Just what I was looking for. I am a member of a boating club and also a Sea Scout leader. I use this as a prop for ceremonies for both organizations.

I was totally disappointed with this item. The finish is horrible - runny varnish, numerous unstained areas - and the hub is loose where the spokes come together. This wheel was inexpensive, so I guess I got what I paid for.
