Taragui Sin Palo Yerba Mate 2.2lb / 1kg (No Stems)

I want to touch on some thing's that might help first time buyers of this wonderful tea like it did for me, These tips are true for all brands of yerba mate if not listed in english.1. "Sin Palo" is the version of yerba mate that has no stems which in my opinion is the best one to get if your not using the gourd and bombilla. So if your using a french press or just a tea infuser to make a single cup of tea as i do then this version is for you. This was critical in my decision in purchasing this tea and was a little confusing so i hope this help's someone.2. "Elaborada Con Palo" is the version with stems and is prefered by tea drinkers that use the gourd and bombilla because the stems are said to help with filtration.Taragui Sin Palo is loose leaf with low powder and the leaves are fine but not too fine so it works great with an infuser. The bag is a simple paper/plastic material with no metal cinch like some. ( Not really sure of material because i can't understand the words on the package :p ) I just pour the tea into a large glass airtight mason jar and throw the packaging away anyways... I pour the tea directly in the infuser while it sit's inside of my glass cup but if you want to get rid of any powder first than you can pour the tea into the infuser and shake it and the powder will fall through the bottom but do this over the sink or trash can. Pour small amount of cold water on the leaves before pouring the hot water over the tea to protect the flavor and nutrient's. I let the tea infuse and steep for around 5 minutes, I've noticed that the same tea can be used again to repeat and make another cup maybe even two but i havent tried doing it more than twice. I've heard that this tea is somehow stronger in taste than other brands but i don't agree with that AT ALL it has a very soft taste and unique from other brands i find in store's. i usually fill the infuser about half way sometimes more. maybe the flavor is softened because i pour cold water on the tea before the hot water but who know's everyone has different taste buds.... I do not mix with anything such as honey or lemon/lime like some i enjoy tasting the pure flavor this amazing tree provide's. The energy is very good with this tea and gives you a feeling of well being you will not need an energy drink after drinking this tea of that i am sure. If your debating about getting this tea i give it two thumbs up for the price you really can't go wrong i was hesitant in getting such a large size having not tried this brand before but am very glad i did. This was the only brand i could find without stem's in a bulk size that also offered one day shipping i am glad i did order this brand and will reorder when mine runs out.

Great for any kind of brewing that requires filtering. In particular, excellent for cold brew maté.

I love this mate and drink it everyday. I find it convenient to use large fillable tea bags or cold brew coffee bags to make a large pitcher/thermos of tea each day. The bags solve the dust issue with metal tea infusers and the traditional bombilla and gourd just aren't practical for the office. I make my tea bags half mate and half loose leaf peppermint and it provides a nice balanced flavor. I've also tried it with chamomile and it lends a smooth sweetness. Great way to have an afternoon pick up, without the jitters and acid of coffee.

I just love dumping this stuff into a french press and drinking like 10 cups at a time. The strong, earthy flavor isn't for the weak, and women beware, this will grow hair on your chest. I would post a picture of my chest as proof, but probably not appropriate for amazon. Also, make sure to clean out whatever you drink this out of, especially travel mugs, as the remnants begin to smell like ass after a day or two. Does not work in kombucha brewing due to the ass smell and taste of yerba mate that has been sitting for over a week. Big mistake.

Great coffee substitute with better flavor. Good value. One star removed because despite “sin palo” designation it still has a few stems in there. I would like to think it has health benefits over coffee too!

I get this for my husband to use in his gourd, he has been buying this for over 15 years and it is his go to brand. He loves that there are no stems so it is smoother tasting. The seller is always very prompt and the bags arrive in perfect condition.

Esta re piola! I have tried all the big brands of yerba from Argentina (I lived there for a year and a half) and this one was my favorite and is hard to find as it is only sold in certain regions of the country. This is AWESOME yerba and I love that this is without the sticks (sin palo) so leaves only! This tea has a delicious flavor, I'm glad I found it! The leaves are very small and fine so they work quite well in my diffuser. I use 2 Tbs in my Primula Tea Pot and let it steep for 5 minutes, and it turns out perfect. I like to add a little sweetener and I always use liquid Lemon Stevia, it's really amazing in tea! Enjoy!

A nice loose leaf Yerba tea with good flavour. I make it in my coffee maker and it comes out perfect. Good value for money. Will be ordering more soon.The bag is a little delicate so my advice is to have a ceramic container to transfer some of it into for immediate use then periodically top up the container with the remaining tea in the bag.

Got it quick, good price and good stuff

I have not prepared it the traditional way, but as a North American, I used a French press, and/or also a medium sized infuser. So probably my drink is not as strong as the traditional way. This stemless blend is perfect for this application. But I must say I really like the grassy slightly bitter taste and it gives me a very mild coffee like buzz that comes on slow and is much less harsh than a full blown coffee high and subsequent downer but with a slight energetic boost. I like it cold a bit better than hot, that way I can sip it throughout the day instead of water or other drinks. I've had it sitting at room temperature for a few days and it still tastes the same days later. I plan on making a large batch and keeping it in the fridge as a refreshing drink for the summer months. highly recommend

I used to love Yerba Mate and couldn't find the brand I used to purchase. This tastes nothing at all like what I believe it should. I asked others to try it and they came away with the same conclusion.
