Surprising
You ever buy something thinking "this is gonna suck..." and it didn't?That's the best explanation I can come up with for this thing. I bought it completely exceeded all expectations. Works incredibly well.I'd recently purchased a string mower/trimmer. It couldn't handle my yard very well in mower mode. I used it four times and got sick of it. We live in a duplex. Our front yard is something 100' L x either 6' W or 15' W, depending on how close you're standing to the street. The back yard is 30'x30'. I kept my stringed machine to use as a trimmer.Pros:Super light weightQuietPlenty of powerDoesn't smell like gasEasy to operateEasy to assembleKill switch for when the bag is too fullSo, the best thing is that thing can handle a really badly overgrown lawn. My backyard was full of crabgrass, plus some Bermuda sod. It had been raining almost constantly for the last month, so it was wayyy out of hand. It actually cut it!On top of that, it's much lighter to push around than any gas powered machine and doesn't stink like a gas machine. Really quiet, too. Controls are easy. Push the start button then close the lever to keep it running. It took me 10 minutes to put together, sitting in my living room floor.Cons:Dragging an extension cordBag is too smallSide discharge is messyAny plugin electric lawn machine is going to be mildly annoying. You get used to that. I learned to walk in straight lines instead of walking in a square to keep from getting tangled up in the cord. Not that big of a deal. This thing REALLY needs a bigger bag. As stated, my yard was out of control. I filled the bag up in two rows and had to dump. I finally got sick of that and just used the side discharge. That works, but looks pretty bad. I had grass all over me and the sides of the fence. That's my own fault, not the machine. Conclusion:Would I buy again? Yup, definitely. This machine is awesome for a small yard. Just learn to walk in back and forth straight lines rather than walking in a square so you don't run over you extension cord.

Great First Lawnmower
The Good:We are taking care of a lawn for our first year, it's a rental, and we needed something that could come inside the house and be stored in the winter. This fit all of those. It is easy to use, cheap to replace, light, fold-able, and it uses a power cord you purchase separately so there aren't any harmful gases to keep it from storing indoors (not to mention is user ready next season). The Not as Good:You look weird mowing your lawn while trying to navigate around a cord. If the grass gets too long, this mower is so light that it takes forever to mow, puts strain on the motor, so you need to keep up with the grass. The user can minimize the inconvenience with a regular sensible lawn cutting pattern. A lot of the reviews had problems with the cord they purchased causing the mower to blow out, this is entirely due to a lack of prior research. We bought a Husky 12 amp 100 foot cord, it's a nice sturdy outdoor cord that is enough to do everything we have needed to outdoors, and works nicely with this lawnmower. The Bad:When you fold the handle downward, you loosen parts on the handle. One of those pieces fell in our grass, and we haven't been able to find it. The handle will not stay up without these parts. We looked into a replacement, and they are completely out of stock of the part we need. We couldn't find a comparable part at any hardware store in our area. So we are looking at weeks of strong grass growth and borrowing our neighbors mower, which is something we tried to avoid by buying our own mower. Or some duct-tape? We also should not have loosened the piece on the lawn. I wouldn't fault Sun Joe except they could use standard hardware or have a way to stock them more quickly.Update: We are still using this mower more than 4 years later and with the same cord. It has more than earned that last star with no real maintenance, the only replacement was the handle pieces, and I am buying the chute.

Excellent little machine
It was easy to assemble and easy instructions re: use. It mowed my lawn without a problem and I have a corner lot with a 2 ft incline at one end. It even tackled the dense patch of clover without a problem. Emptying the grass catcher was very simple. Love this little mower.

The price is right for what you get.
For 150 dollars what do you want? Lightweight - Check, Rear bag - Check, easy assembly - check, 2 year warranty - check. My home is a middle row of a townhouses, so i have to carry the mower between front and back it is easy to carry and is lightweight enough to maneuver around. Cutting grass is why people buy a lawnmower and i have to say it does that job well. The rear bagging works very well. I even use it as a mini vaccum across the patio to pick up clippings. Changing height is okay now, i suspect overtime with wear and tear it will be come more difficult. My only complaint in the plastic housing that covers the blade area (the darker green plastic on the image) is pretty flimsy. I touched a tree while cutting the lawn and it deformed enough to touch the spinning blade and it damaged the interior of the cutting area. It did not penetrate. But you will need to be careful about touching items with the side of the mower while in use..End of the day for my postage stamp of a yard it does what i need it to do.

Capable little machine!
Our yard was long overdue for a mow by the time we ordered this mower and the rain stopped for long enough that we could take it out, and this little mower chopped up our jungle of a lawn like it was nothing. I love how light it is, especially since we currently lack a shed and we have to bring the mower to the basement when we're done with it. I have barely any upper body strength and I was able to pull the body of the mower out of the package with one hand. Assembly was easy.Other reviews (including those outside Amazon and professional reviews) have mentioned that the shortest blade setting will scalp the lawn to the dirt, so I recommend keeping it at the highest setting (which is still pretty short). We haven't used the grass catcher yet, as it didn't make sense to do so with our lawn being almost a foot high in some spots. I can't imagine, if we keep on top of mowing the lawn, that the grass catcher won't work. If you have a big job that requires the grass catcher to be removed, I suggest wearing shoes and pants that you don't care about because you will end up with a lot of little grass bits all over your ankles. Also, when doing a big job, the mower can become clogged with grass even without the grass catcher on, so make sure to stop every few rows, lift the flap and scoop the clippings out of the body. The extension cord is annoying at times, but as long as you mow in rows starting from the side closest to your outlet, the cord will stay to the side of the mower. The mower will shut off if you let go of the handle, which I do appreciate, but it can be disruptive since you have to stop the mower any time you need to do something that requires both hands.Overall, I am pleased with this mower. It's not a luxury mower by any standard, but for what it is, I wouldn't ask for more.Update: I was digging some garden beds and found that lifting up the sod was more difficult than expected. I remembered what was said about the lowest setting on this mower scalping the lawn, so I thought I’d try it to see if it would make the job any easier. It really does cut right down to the dirt, and it made it way easier to remove the sod. I would do it again next time I need to prepare for an excavation too small to make renting a sod remover worth it.

Cute, light and powerful!
Little Sun Joe makes mowing fun! Long grass and weeds are no problem. The quiet motor is a happy hum. When we have to go up the stairs to the other yard (unplugged first of course) I can easily lift Sun Joe by the handle and push bar. Simple construction means easy cleaning and maintenance too. Best mower ever.
