great mat for travel at a great price
Last minute before a trip, I was on Amazon looking at several "travel" yoga mats. I settled on this one because of a combination of good reviews and affordable price (most mats had good and bad reviews so I decided to err on the side of not wasting a lot of money in case it was a dud). I got this the day I left for my trip (phew!) and have been pretty pleased with it.It might be hard to tell from the images, but basically it's a thin, foldable mat (almost like a towel) but it has a soft, cottony side and a rubbery, mat side (which grips the floor). It's not two distinct pieces; they're fused together. It's nice and long, and folds up into an included mesh bag about the size of a t-shirt, so it's very, very packable -- I actually kept it in my carry-on bag most of the time. I used it while traveling on carpeted hotel floors and it really served its purpose. It was long enough (unlike a towel would be) and generally cushy enough. I haven't used it on hardwood floors/cement, so I'm not sure it would be thick enough for that, but on carpet it was great. It does slip around/bunch up a little bit, but it was still totally worthwhile because it generally felt like doing yoga on a mat, and not like doing yoga without a mat on carpet. Many reviews say that it's really great over another mat -- I haven't tried that, but it would be super useful if your hotel had, say, mats in their gym you could borrow. Throw this over it and you're safe from weird hotel germs! So far it's held up great -- I used it daily during a week-long trip, and now leave it at a friend's house where I do yoga occasionally. I'm excited to bring it on upcoming conference trips, as I usually neglect yoga then, but this makes it easy (and convenient for small carry on bags). As a side note, the company has great customer service. Nothing was wrong with my order so I didn't need to contact them, but they followed up after it shipped to make sure it arrived on time and that I was satisfied -- I definitely felt like if any problems had occurred (or I wasn't happy), they would have been quick to remedy it. This is a great item for any traveling yogi, and the price (and customer service) make it a really low-stakes purchase.

At first, I was not thrilled with the mat. I would have called it just ok. I bought it in anticipation for a trip I have coming up, but I also walk to yoga a lot and so I've been testing it out. My first practice was a heated one and the mat kept moving underneath me. The second practice was better and now it's just like a traditional mat for me. It is thin, but it doesn't both me at all, the towel part is amazing and the mat works for me. Maybe we were just getting to know each other at first. Last night, I did back to back hot power classes on it and it stuck right with me. I get more into it the more I use it.

good for travel and bikram
This does the job for a handful of specific uses, but this is by no means a lighter option for my regular mat.Pros: easy to travel with, easy to clean, waterproof bottom is a great feature - I plop this down anywhere without worry, nice little mesh travel bag, great for bikram where there's no need for a lot of mat if you're using towels on top (and again, you can clean it which is a MAJOR plus after bikram practice)Cons: minimal grip for hands and feet - this is not a mat for sweaty vinyasa flow type yogas, feels a little flimsy, maintains creases where it's folded until washed (though I'm hoping this lessens with time/washing), top attracts dust and lint pretty easily - luckily it's washable though

Grippy and compact mat/towel keeps you clean and green
This is a must-try for traveler yogis, hot yogis, germ-conscious yogis, or if like me, your hands (and/or feet) just get sweaty and start slipping when you're in downward facing dog and need some extra grip. I travel a lot for business and pleasure so this mat makes a real difference for me as I try to keep up my yoga practice when I'm away from home. I can stuff this in my suitcase or backpack and either lay it over a studio/gym's borrowed yoga mat and not feel all grossed out, or use it by itself on the floor, balcony, by the pool or on a grassy patch. When I first tried Bikram/hot yoga, I paid over $60 for a yoga towel from Lucy that just doesn't measure up to this one in terms of price, grip, packing size/weight, and wash/dry time. No green washing here; this product is clean, green, and performs as advertised. Slip less and travel more, with this mat. Enjoy!

Practical, easily foldable, the non-slip on floor side works well (darker / "plastic-like" side), it is machine washable (not yet tested but written in instructions) and a good size.It is however slightly slippery on the top side when doing downward dog. That side looks also somewhat fragile and will show traces of use after a few uses.Otherwise great buy, I still recommend it for travel - overall I'm pretty happy with it.

It is kind of thin and flimsy, not good if you have sensitivity in your ankle/foot bones and does bunch up which I guess is a minor inconvenience when traveling. Could be made a little stiffer and heavier but it is not slippery which is what I worry about the most.

E-Book code never worked
I am mostly pleased with the travel mat. It was very portable, and I used it while traveling and would lay it atop the "borrow bin" yoga studio mats to avoid any gross hygiene issues with sharing mats. It was pretty good and mostly non-slip. It would however start to shift and wrinkle whenever going in to lunges and similar poses. I really do like the product, though, but am giving it a low rating because the code for the free e-book never worked as promised, so that is poor advertising on the company's part.

Save Your Money
This yoga towel isn't great. First, mine came with a marker-like stain on it that did not come out in the wash. This doesn't affect the performance, of course, but it doesn't look new, and it is. Second, it doesn't really work great. It gets bunched up when I'm doing yoga, and my hands still slide on the towel during class. I saw skip it and save yourself the money.
