I’m a beginner and use YouTube to figure it out. It doesn’t have the loud deeper sound that the wood one with the hole provides but it’s so sweet and gentle sounding. I can’t figure out how to tune the very last key on the right properly - it sounds like a dead/flat key but when my friend helped me tune the other keys he said it was already pretty close to being tuned. Easy to hold and handle

Louder sounds

I bought the cute bear kalimba as my second one (first is a hollow, wood kalimba). I very much like kalimbas like my first one, but they are quite loud, to the point of worrying about waking up the kids if I practiced in the evening. Also the sound seems uncomfortable for my dog. After doing some research, I learned that the acrylic models were quieter. I admit I did not think I would buy an acrylic one at first, as I thought they were too fragile. But now after reading more and looking at a lot of videos on Youtube, I decided to go with the Aklot Bear, and oh my do I love it! It is so much quieter than my first one! It's like it's whispering. The sound is so soft and so clear. It was pretty out of tune, but easy to tune up with the provided hammer (which is also super cute!). No dead tines. Also, this one does not seam nearly as fragile as I originally thought. It is very well built. And I do love the rigid carrying case. Another point to make is that I do not find it very heavy. I had also read that acrylic models were much heavier and could hurt the wrists after playing it for a while. The weight is one of the reasons I chose this model, as it weighs less than other acrylic models I looked at. And I must say that it is very comfortable to play with. I love it so much I have been playing it non-stop all weekend and I do not feel any strain. So despite my thinking I would never go for an acrylic kalimba, I think this one is my favourite out of the two that I have. I am really happy with my purchase!

Absolutely adorable! Received a few days ago and have been filling my home with fairytale like music ever since. Easy to play and tune, comes with cute lil hammer and instructions so you know what you’re doing. Easy to learn and great for beginners
