Epic Bible, The

The EPIC BibleWhen I was MUCH YOUNGER I couldn’t get enough of comic books of any kind. The only part in the newspapers I cared about was the page of comics. The idea that the Bible could have been done in a Comic Strip or Graphic Novel format would have been totally foreign to me. In my Middle-Age years the idea of the Bible being presented in Comic Strip or Graphic Novel format would have seemed wrong and I would likely have criticized it. Now in my senior years it’s not my personal choice. I want the full text. I want precision of language. I want that precision while still maintaining the beauty of language and letting the wonder of the poetry of the Bible shine through.In my old age I’m not drawn to the comic book format at all. But leafing through the EPIC Bible my reaction was WOW! I know some kids who would be drawn to the Bible this way, who will probably never read it in the forms I prefer. I know some adults who would be the same, though they might never admit it.Yes, there will be weaknesses and some of the negative reviews have touched on those. But perhaps the biggest weakness in our world is churches full of people who never read their Bibles – in any format. I’ll gladly give this Five Stars, not because it is my personal choice but because it will impact people who will never read my personal choice in Bibles.I’m pretty sure I need to order more copies of this book in and have it on the shelves of my store ALWAYS.

It’s big and beautiful. The angels are warriors not fluffy. It is stories depicted in an array of gorgeous colors flowing into each other. The drawing is stunning. From the stories I have checked,that I’m familiar with, it is true to the Bible. The pictures are in your face. They are big and fill the pages thus giving you the basic word bubble and lots to interpret in the frame. I’m 69 and previewing this for my 8 children who may purchase it for the combined 21 grands. Some are young and too influenced by an atheist father. I think this could be a life changer for those little boys. I may actually be purchasing more for Christmas. 😇

Great book for people. Got one for my family and one for a friend who loves to read comic bibles. 👌🏻Update: the new testament is weird. The books don't match the story in there as I'm noticing. Oh boy. I don't like that, can't return this now. Oh well.It should be precise like the Bible is, not changing some stuff from there to there. Sigh.
