When I ordered this knife I thought it was going to be a decent sized knife but it was a little smaller than I expected but the blade a decently big for the size of it housing. It's a got a satisfying finish that feels good in your hands and its pretty slim so it works for the purposed of being and Everyday Carry. Came in pretty sharp and opens quick! Here's a note for the Slide Lock. When you receive your Kershaw and you try to unlock the slide to open your knife, use a strong point on the groove of the slide and push up to finally unlock your knife. But in all a great affordable pocket knife made here at home!

It’s been over 20 years since Kershaw brought us the Leek, and it can still compete with anything made today. The original is a true classic; I’ve had a couple of them over the years. I was intrigued by this one; the Random Leek with a reverse tanto blade, and I really like it. I’ve had it for a month or so now and have used it for everything from opening mail to cutting up cardboard boxes. It’s very sharp right out of the box and has easily handled everything I’ve thrown at it. It’s very easy to open with the spring-assisted flipper, and it can be closed with one hand as well. It has thumb studs, but they’re very small and their main function is to stop the blade when it snaps open. I don’t plan to conceal carry this knife, but if I did I would replace the pocket clip with an after-market one that doesn’t leave so much of the knife exposed. It’s a perfect open-carry clip though; it’s plenty long enough to clip over any standard belt. I really like this knife - it’s elegant, very versatile, makes a great fidget knife, and is made right here in the USA. I’m very happy with this purchase.

So far, this is my favorite kershaw knife. Have several other models, this one is nice and hefty, easy to sharpen.

This knife is a piece of art. It feels great in the hand. The finish is great. The blade is sharp and fast to open. I like everything about this knife. Best part, made in the USA

Update:After having tried a few other knives, this has slipped rom my favorite to close favorite. The main issue being the Speedsafe Assisted open is way too strong. I also have a Kershaw Cryo, also with assisted open, and it feels far more natural. Whereas the Leek feels like it snaps open so strongly it almost feels uncomfortable in the hand. The resistance of the speedsafe torsion bar, when trying to close, also makes closing the knife one-handed feel a little scarry.I did purchase an after market clip that fixed the clip issue that I mentioned in my original post.Soften the Speedsafe torsion bar tension, and it would be a 5 out of 5 with the aftermarket clip.-----------------------------------------------Original Post:I bought this knife after snooping around for a first EDC knife for myself. The thing that appealed to me was the higher quality steel and compact size. I wanted to be able to carry it in my workplace and not feel like a Rambo pulling it out of my pocket. This thing looks classy and at home in an office setting, equally as beside a campfire.Likes:- compact size.- good steel.- came with a sharp edge.- feels good in the hand, even though smaller in size.- good fit and finish; no blade wobble.- speedsafe feels great when using the flipper "bump" on the rear of the blade with your index finger.- options for clip location (which leads to my dislikes).- love the blade style/shape; seems a great improvement on the standard/original Leek.Dislikes:- this thing has what has to be the worst clip ever bestowed upon a knife (more later).- frame lock only has about 30% contact; though is sufficient.- thumbstuds are next to useless for opening with your thumb without coming close to cutting yourself (more on that later also).- the black plastic standoff/spacer should have been separate/individual standoffs for easier cleaning.All in all, I love this knife. I think with a few tweaks this could be perfect. I have removed the thumbstuds on my Kershaw Cryo as they are also useless. Though on the Leek, they are what stops the blade when opening, so you can't remove them.The clip is honestly the most disappointing thing about this knife. While you can reposition for tip up carrying, be prepared to have over an inch of the knife sitting above your pocket.While you can purchase aftermarket titanium clips, this adds another 50% of the knife purchase price. Same goes for the individual standoffs that can be bought aftermarket.A solid 4 out of 5; but could so easily have been a 5 out of 5.

This is my 3rd Kershaw Leek. I really like the reverse tanto blade; the others have the wharncliffe blade which is also great. I like that the blade lock is easy to use and can be used or not depending on the owner's discretion. I prefer to use the flipper to open, the stud is more difficult for me to use.The only thing I wish, and this does not diminish in anyway the greatness of this knife, is that it came in Magnacut steel.
