I am an assiduous reader of product listings. I requested this product for review based on using another Aloedent toothpaste, sold on its natural ingredients. As indeed is this one as it lists Chlorophyll (presumably from the Parsley) as well as Aloe juice, Peppermint, Icelandic Moss and Tea TreeI am not a smoker, but cigarettes are not the only thing that can stain teeth, (tea, coffee, red wine) nor the only thing that can cause not quite nice odours (oh, the lovely garlic) I also like the stronger TASTE of some smokers' toothpaste.So I thought this toothpaste was probably going to be less sweet, and fiercer in its clean aroma plus lots of great ingredients (parsley, as whole herb, great to chew if your food has been particularly pungent)There I was, happily reading the list of contents - fortunately before about to TRY the toothpaste - when I spottedCarboxymethyl Chitosan (from shellfish)And hence my 1 star on this. It may be an excellent product or it may be a poor product in terms of taste, usage, results.I will never know. One does not expect to encounter animal ingredients or animal derived ingredients in toothpaste - or there should be clear notification UNSUITABLE FOR VEGETARIANS on the product listing and on the box. Highlighted, in BOLD and in unmissable positioning and typefaceObviously Vegetarian Unsuitablility also means Vegans will want to steer a wide berth

This is a smokers' toothpaste made with natural ingredients, free from all kinds of nasty chemicals such as SLS, fluoride etc. Contains: aloe Vera (to soothe gums), tea tree oil (natural antiseptic), Icelandic moss & silica (for natural whitening), chitosan (antibacterial), CoQ10, Escin & liquorice (for healthy gums), parsley extract & chrorophyll (deodorising), peppermint & menthol (naturally derived flavour). It has a natural minty flavour, not too strong that it is overpowering but refreshing. It tastes & feels natural & the flavours also.The benefits of this toothpaste over other toothpastes are:1-although it is anti-stain, it is also non-abrasive (due to the ingredient used being Icelandic Moss & silica. My dentist has recommended not to use whitening toothpastes as they're abrasive & wear away the enamel). Just wish to add that please don't expect miracles as smoking causes alot of staining that no toothpaste can really fix! 😉2-contains alot of natural ingredients as listed above (also see photo)3- fluoride free (fluoride is very bad for health, although my dentist has said ingesting it is harmful for health but just brushing with it strengthens the teeth & gums, but personally I don't like it).4- gentle whitening using natural & non-abrasive ingredients5- gives fresh natural deodorising breath, perfect for smokers!The ingredients as far as I know are authentically described, although I've never heard that CoQ10 is good for healthy gums. Normally it us taken for energy levels in the body.A very well made, good quality toothpaste.

As any smoker will know the habit can leave to staining especially on the back of the teeth. For years I have been using Pearl Drops Smokers toothpaste twice a day with an electric toothbrush and have been disappointed with the results. I have tried other brands such as Eucryl and have not found anything that has really worked. (Apart from Prophy Paste)This green gel is good - after two weeks I have noticed slightly less yellowing of the teeth and build up (especially on the back of the teeth)…...however despite the unusual colour - this minty peppermint gel has made my mouth feel fresher for hours.It is as good/ better than other brands on the market but will not give miracle results alone!! ( I think only stopping smoking would do that)

This contains animal products!I'm disgusted it doesn't state this on the information in the listing. I have zero desire to use fractions of dead animals to clean my teeth or indeed in any other part of my life.This brand is known to have natural, vegan friendly, items so I'm not sure why this has been let slide but Carboxymethyl Chitosan is directly from shell fish.Since discovering this I've read some reviews and see others have fortunately noticed before use.Please change the packing to clearly state this contains animal products
