Love this recovery suit
My dog had abdominal surgery and I used the suit to avoid the cone of shame. It worked great. The suit fit my dog perfectly and she seemed to be very comfortable in it whether she was sleeping, or was outside sniffing around. And bonus was that she looked adorable in it.

Great alternative to the cone of shame!
We got this for our 53 pound, 2 year old standard goldendoodle, for her spay, because if she had to wear the cone of shame for 2 weeks, she'd just stand there with her head down for 14 days, giving me the stink eye. It worked amazingly, super happy we went with it. We measured the neck, back and chest, and I had read that if the measurements fell into different size ranges on the chart, to go with the one that was recommended for the back length. Her back length was 26, I believe, so we got the 2xl, but her neck was either in the lg or xlarge. Getting the one for her back length worked out great, the neck fit fine, wasn't too big or anything. I liked it a lot because it wasn't form fitting to her belly, so it could breathe, but she couldn't mess with her incision. The material was good, and able to handle the couple of times our playful other doodle gained access to her convelescing room and dive bombed her. Keeping these two apart for 2 weeks was the hardest part of the whole process 🤣 i held off on writing this until she was completely healed so I could give good info on how it worked. The straps were a little long and would have been a little loose if we had done like the instructions say, but we criss-crossed them and it fit great. The underside velcro meant to hold everything while she was undone and going to the bathroom was not a feature I could ever figure out when she was needing to go, I just undid the straps and put them over her back and attached to the butt velcro, tucking the fabric in, and that worked well. We also had the vet put it on her in recovery, which helped out a lot because when she came home she wasn't really with it enough that we could have helped her into it. The velcro was really strong, and this washed well and even though it said line dry, I ran it on low in the dryer with no problem. The only thing I would point out is that the strong velcro panels tended to curl under and kind of bug her so she liked us to scratch her hips a lot. For the peace of mind and ease of use, I certainly don't mind scratching my dog's butt now and then. I would definitely buy this again.

Great substitute for a cone!
Very reasonable price. Worked well for my 10 mo old Springer pup (38 pounds) after Spay. Ordered this in two sizes: L and XL. Large was snug and XL was baggy. Returned the large. After washing the XL, it fit better - still baggy in the back. Machine wash and dry - it did shrink some, but it also stretches back out after wearing for a while.Good - soft material, fairly easy to get on and off. Velcro was really strong - she couldn't pull it loose.Neutral, but good info to have: It would be impossible to have it fit all breeds, but we had to buy an xl because the girth just exactly fit on the large and would have been too small after washing. We also needed it a little longer than the XL, but not 4" longer. My dog was between sizes, I guess. She measured: Neck 14", girth - 23.5", length 23". (38 lbs) So, the neck was big and the underside was ok in the front, but was really baggy towards the back because it was made for a 28" girth. I could have taken it up, but never got around to it. I wish there was a velco adjustment for that area so that it could be customized more. Not so good - We didn't even use the velcro patch on the bottom when rolling it back for potty breaks, but it got stuck on something in the dryer, and when I pulled it, it came loose from the material. The good thing is that the velcro is VERY STRONG which is probably why it tore.Great for occasional use. Very good substitute for the cone since she was terrified of it!

Can potty without taking off! Worth it for Post Operation!
ETA Post-surgery update: My baby had her surgery and I am SO HAPPY I bought this! Super easy to use! She definitely would have been licking/chewing herself if this wasn't on. Also, at the time of surgery, she was 24.5 pounds and the large size is absolutely perfect. Not tight, not too loose, and she can freely move around. Added pictures of my pup for reference! :)My 4-month-old Bordoodle is scheduled for her spay next month and as a worried mama, I am trying to prep so things go smoothly. I have owned dogs my entire life, we have spayed and neutered all our dogs and this is the first time I am buying a product like this. So why did I buy it? Glad you asked. :) Well, any dog owner who has attempted to use the cone of shame (on thier dog...lol) knows that most dogs HATE it. Old school cones are cheaper, but they are hard plastic and energetic dogs will bump into your furniture/walls. Clunky, loud and not fun to hear at 3AM. Soft cones are better, but they cost more, some dogs don't like them and some dogs can remove it (yes, it happens). On top of that, cones can't be comfortable and let's face it, after a surgery, wouldn't you like your fur baby to be as comfortable as possible? Me too. So, enter this little beauty. It is soft, easy to put on and yes, your dog can go potty without completely removing it. Simply rip velcro on both sides and move it inside dogs legs. Reattach velcro so material is out of the way. Let dog potty and reverse the process to put it back on. Easy peasy! My pup is 20 pounds and the large fits perfect with enough room that she's comfortable, but can't lick herself. I'm positive she could wear the large even if she was 25 pounds and still be comfortable. The velcro is strong. My only worry would be durabilty (with me pulling the strong velcro on and off several times a day, will it rip?). I will update this review if anything negative happens, but right now, this item is so worth the money.I thought about being cheap and making my own from a baby onsie. Two problems with this...one, I think baby onsies won't fit as well on a dog (possible spoiler alert: dogs don't move like human babies...lol) and two, I remembered I don't sew. By the time I got all the materials, it wouldn't be worth the saving of a few bucks and the product would not be as effective (oh, and did I meantion I don't sew?)Thinking of buying a second one so I can wash one and still have one on my pup. Plus, she loves water and will plop herself IN water bowls if given a chance so I think an extra may be a good idea.I will update after surgery if anything changes.Click "helpful" if this review helped you. It is nice to know if my reviews help. :)

Great onesie for post surgery
Fit really well even after a wash. I had had time getting him to wear the cone, so this worked as a great alternative. Definitely measure before buying, my pup here is in a 2xl.

Still too small despite choosing the largest size.
Too tight for my Bernedoodle.

I had to buy the S even though as per the chart my dog is a M
I had to buy the S even though as per the chart my dog is a M. I returned the M because it was HUGE. Even the S was pretty big compared to the recommendations that the chart has for sizing.

better than a cone
Our 107 pound Bernese Mountain dog is scheduled for spaying in a couple of weeks so we are looking at options to keep her from scratching or biting her incision. This product looks like it will work. The size XXL fits snugly but comfortably. Time will tell how it holds up.

Recovery suit
This suit did cover my dogs stitches but it also covers her business end. You have to undo it for your dog to pee. I also found it to be better suited for dogs with long tails. cropped tails do not keep it in place and it becomes a poo hammock. I ended up putting it on her backwards and tying up the leg straps over her back.
