I was looking at prep machines to make food for our 6 month old. But honestly the amount she eats is so small it just didn't seem necessary. I just take a little food out that we are eating, either from the oven, pan or steamer, put it in this bowl and mash it. Yes you can use a fork in a normal dish, but I think this gives you a smoother paste due to the ridges in half the bowl. I'm not sure how people have struggled to clean it either? Warm sponge and rinse and job done. If you leave food in it yes it'll go hard, get stuck in the ridges and stain. But for the sake of a little rinse out after mashing, I've had no issues. I think its brilliant.

This product is totally useless bought it based on the good reviews and its sitting now in the kitchen as an accessory...it does the same task that a fork does mashing the food and the bowl has these thin lines inside that makes cleaning it a nightmare...save money don't buy ..use your fork will do it !!

Well made and durable bowl and masher. I have used this on a near daily basis for a few months and much prefer it to using a hand blender as you can make up small amounts at a time.The bowl is about the size of a small rice bowl and was smaller than I expected it to be when it arrived.The bowl and masher both have a good soft grip and it's easy to get the food to the right consistency for a baby.The bowl has some grooves in it. I couldn't really understand what these were for at first but they do help to mash the food more finely and crush any skins in the food.They wash well in the dishwasher.Have taken off one star as they have become slightly discoloured (not sure whether this is due to the vegetables or turmeric). However this is not too noticeable and does not distract from its usefulness.I would definitely buy this again.

Lovely little musher. It’s easy to clean (don’t leave your food to dry in there) and it does the job. I didn’t want to invest in a blender since babies go through mush food phase so quickly and they only need a little, this little musher has fulfilled the job.I can see it will be perfect for on the go/dining out.one plate of veg and you can mush it in there in about three batches. Obviously if you want to make big portions you are better off with a blender.

Used this a few times as just introducing my baby to weaning. Mashes veg and banana really well. I've just used it for small quantities but it is very quick and convenient and makes mashing very easy. Find it very useful as I can easily prepare veg separately to ours and make the food individual to baby with his cows milk protein allergy. It has a corregated base of the bowl which works well with the masher. The food was a nice consistancy for a beginner to eat. I would recommend. It was easy to clean/wash up. It is also a nice design and colour.
