Thread size m8 1.25
Contrary to other reviews, the thread size on this pelican hook is M8 1.25. I am using 4 of these these with heavy duty lifting eyes and ss thimbles to replace the wire lifelines and gates on my 34ft sailboat with dyneema. These pelican hook are as decent as any I've ever seen, time and weather will tell if they are good quality 316, but the price is great and 2 or 3 replacements is still less than 1 purchase from most marine retailers! Giving these 4*s as I don't know how well they will resist salt water corrosion.

WARNING!
Very sturdy but they forgot to mention these are not threaded as replacements. You would have to crimp braze or spot weld these to your cables like you are putting all new on. For professionals only.

Wrong threads
This pelican hook has 5/16 coarse threads - not fine. Fine threads are much more common on boats. So if you are trying to use the hook as a replacement of that part only, you are out of luck. And they only give you 30 days to return and by the time I got it to my boat and realized it would not fit, it was past that. So I will just have to throw it in the trash. Really irritating.
