Fourth Estate Pretty Honest: The Straight-Talking Beauty Companion

Great book written in Sali's straightforward style. There were loads of useful tips, especially not keeping products for "best" and then finding that they've deteriorated. I did this with my last bottle of Body Shop's Melon Seed shower gel (why did you stop making this lovely product?) and found that the perfume had gone off. P.S. Body Shop, bring back this range! I thought Sali's explanation of the different skincare products and the best order to apply them made the book worth buying. She also confirmed my suspicions about certain wonder products which not only don't solve a problem, e.g. cellulite, but could never work anyway due to the underlying causes of cellulite. She tells you when to save your money, which brands on the High Street are just as good if not better than the mega-price ranges and she covers all age groups and life situations (post pregnancy, etc.)A great read full of useful information - every woman should read this!

I wish I'd had this book years ago. Thank you Sali, I feel much more confident about what to buy and use.Best thing is that the book does not recommend loads of expensive products, it's really genuinely good advice.

This book is fantastic. Lots of good info on what works and what doesn’t. Fixes for specific problems. It advises what you don’t need (eg toner & eye cream) which is a HUGE money saver. Sali’s writing is chatty and relatable, so much so, though I was expecting this would be a dip in and dip out reference book, I read it cover to cover. I would have liked a few more pics and maybe a table of her recommendations, but I can’t fault its advice. Best beauty book I’ve ever had by a long chalk.

This book is amazing for anyone who doesn't have 'that person who just know everything about beauty' in their life. When I read it it's like talking to a very experienced friend who's sharing their favourites and misses with me, giving me tips, helping with my beauty woes.

Second time writing a review as it wasnt approved. Haven't read the book yet but it arrived damaged with marks and what looks like a lipstick stain.
