Overpriced and Poor Quality
I took the plunge and purchased the Primus Tupike stove even though it was much more expensive than its competitors. Upon receiving it, I was very disappointed to notice that the only converter included was a 16.4 oz. Adapter for US propane tanks. That was fine and well, except that I needed the stove to connect to the backpacking fuel canisters. Well, in order to do that, I had to spend an additional $25.00 to get that adapter. So if you need to connect this stove to backpacking fuel canisters, add another $25.00 on top of the already hefty price of the stove. When the adapter arrived, I tried installing it using the Primus tool. I tightened it as much as I could, but never obtained a full seal (causing the fuel canister to leak uncontrollably. I tightened it to the point where I developed cuts in the palm of one hand, but the leak continued unabated. In short, if you want to spend crazy amounts of money (probably twice as much as its competitor’s stove) and still have a faulty stove as a result of poor workmanship, then by all means, this is your stove. If I could give this stove less than a one-star rating, I would. By the way, good luck trying to get any help from the Primus website. If anything, it is clear that they censor their ratings and delete any poor rating, so dont rely on the 5-star ratings of supposed customers.
