CSB Study Bible, Holman Handcrafted Collection, Black Premium Goatskin, Red Letter, Study Notes and Commentary, Illustrations, Articles, Word Studies, Outlines, Easy-to-Read Bible Serif Type Leather Bound – December 15, 2021

I own study bibles in the CSB (this one), NET, NASB, NIV, NLT, ESV, AMP, KJV translations in order to relate to others in my ministry. Each translations have some advantages and disadvantages. The NET is great for understanding translation word choices, but with 60,000 footnotes, the notes overwhelm the scripture. The ESV has good chapter intro notes, but the footnotes are not great, and the ESV translation itself suffers from many defects (Google that to see). The NASB messes up idioms, the KJV has the worst comprehension among modern English speakers, the NIV has been reformed due to political pressure, the NLT is actually great for understanding but not good for verse-by-verse study, and the AMP is too vague on how they make their translation decisions. The best in the group, in my view by far, is this CSB. The translation is the best in my opinion (far superior to the ESV and NASB), the quality of construction of the Bible is fantastic, the goat skin cover looks like it will last forever, the charts and footnotes are great. Of all the bibles I own, this is the one I use every day. Buy it. You will love it.

After it arrived I flipped through many pages. The goatskin cover is fantastic! The high quality paper and sewn binding are very well made. It’s of the highest quality manufacturing comparable to Cambridge bibles for a fraction of the price.Text is large, bold and easy to read with more notes than you can fathom.The only criticism is I wish it came with options such as red letter and tabs for quick verse references. Large for everyday carry but perfect for studying at home. Grab a highlighter and pen and get started.

I have ordered many different translations of the Bible and quality is extremely important to me. By far, this Holman’s Handcrafted is the best. From the soft, smooth feel of the leather cover to the way the pages are crafted(smooth, almost silky), hard to explain. But this Bible quality is the best. If I can get all my translations purchased this way, I would.

The content of this bible is great and it's absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately, I have tried to order not 1, not 2, but 3 of these bibles and every one of them had some sort of issue. Whether it be the glue holding the binding coming apart, the outside flaps disconnecting from the liner, or receiving an ENGRAVED bible with another persons NAME on it, it has just been a problem. I'd love to have one, but it's hard to recommend it because of the quality and/or supply chain issues. If it weren't for those issues, this would easily be a favorite bible. I have quite a few bibles, and have never tried to hard to just purchase a bible without random issues. So with that said, if you can get one that is perfect/normal quality - great! It just may be awhile for you to receive one that is not defective.

I bought this because I enjoy having reading and studying scripture and actually holding a hard copy in my hand. This Bible is well put together in depth study notes and commentary’s. This study Bible is mainly Protestant slanted with western view point’s especially on the incarnation of Christ with a visible rendering of Penal substitutionary atonement which without realizing it people putting this together probably do not know any other view especially coming from an American seminary. So you can’t really fault them for it. I have recently came across the CSB app and actually it is really good and you have the study Bible side of it on there for free. It is easy to use and can quickly cross reference and check other study notes while reading along. So I ended up buying just a giant print CSB reference Bible and using the app to cross reference greek words study notes commentaries very quickly. So if you don’t want to spend the money just get the app I don’t believe you will be disappointed.

This bible is expensive, but in my humble opinion it is worth every cent. I will use this bible for the rest of my life and then pass it to my children and it will still be a wonderful book, filled with my notes and the everlasting word of God.
